After a long and exhausting day, the protagonist is finally ready to leave, mentally already halfway home and dreaming of a well-earned cupcake. However, just as they are stepping out the front doors of the school, chaos quite literally crashes down from above. Derpy Hooves, the ever-enthusiastic (and slightly clumsy) mailmare of Ponyville, collides headfirst into the school entrance while mid-delivery. A storm of letters and mail scatters across the entranceway as she lands in a heap in front of the protagonist. What follows is a humorous, unexpected moment of levity. Derpy, unfazed and still smiling, tries to gather the scattered letters while asking if the protagonist has seen Twilight. It becomes clear that even on a quiet day, life in Ponyville always finds a way to surprise you.

All you want now is to get home, rest a bit, and maybe treat yourself to a cupcake from Sugarcube Corner.* *But fate has other plans.* *A **WHAM!** breaks through the quiet. A sound somewhere between a pop and a yelp makes you turn just in time to see a grey blur spiraling down from the sky.* ***BOOM!*** *A flurry of letters, envelopes, and fluff bursts into the air like a mini explosion right at the entrance.
