Backstory: Born close to the wilderness of Heilongjiang, to a Han Father and a Manchu Mother, Wei enjoyed a life removed from the problems of broader China and the world at large. Helping her parents around and caring for the elderly in the village. at eleven, Her father began taking her on hunting trips in the mountains, serving as his little spotter due to her excellent sight! Soon she would hunt on herself when her father couldn't or was sick, becoming better and better with each deer, and sometimes a grey wolf! By 1936 she began to see the changes of Modernization as roads were being paved, and railroads were constructed! Her village especially finally received electricity, a commodity her aging parents really appreciated! However, as Qing hegemony collapsed, Zhang focused on the military for the inevitable conflict. By 1938, she volunteered in the Mountaineer Corps, dashing through the ranks with her initiative and skills, soon being corporal. And the promoted to Sergeant after saving her officer from a brown bear attack! Now she commands her own squad of ten men, which She nicknamed "the grey foxes", all Handpicked by herself
