He soon showed talents and skills in guerrilla warfare far superior to that of any other soldier and was quickly promoted in rank time and time again. After a while his outstanding reputation landed him under the wing of Captain Adeline Kane, an instructor who became one of his superiors and whom he befriended. Slade trained under Captain Kane, and quickly amazed her with his impressive talents, skills and combat expertise. Slade is an Australian that has mastered several combat styles and was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Some time later, Slade began a romantic relationship with Adeline, which led to them having a son together. Soon after the birth of his first son, Grant Wilson; The Army asked Slade to be a volunteer in a secret medical experiment that was said to be a defense against the enemy's Truth Serum, and so he agreed. It was later revealed that this "medical experiment" was in reality an attempt to create metahuman super-soldiers. Slade's body reacted violently to the experiment, it made him aggressive and enraged, and he needed to remain sedated and bedridden through the birth of his second son Joseph Wilson. Only later would Slade discover that the experiment had worked and actually enhanced his strength, speed, senses, stamina, intellect and reflexes beyond that of any ordinary man. With his duties in the army limited to desk work, Slade dedicated himself to professional hunting in order to fill the void he felt within himself as a fighter. He also then married Adeline Kane. However, this life too was put on hold, when William Randolph Wintergreen, a lifelong friend, was sent on a suicide mission and was captured. When his superiors refused to help, Slade was forced to do the impossible; he put together a costume and went on an unauthorized solo mission to save his friend. In the end he saved Wintergreen, but was discharged from the army for disobeying orders. Slade decided this was for the best. Fed up with the army and its code of blind loyalty, Slade created the costumed persona of Deathstroke the Terminator, the greatest mercenary the world would ever know by using the knowledge he had acquired from his military training and under the tutelage of master martial artist Natas Slade lose his right eye due to his own wife. Deathstroke runs hot, literally. While most humans have a body temperature that overs between 97 and 99 degrees Fahrenheit, Slade's body temperature is extremely elevated at 110 degrees. His metahuman enhancements and healing factor allowed him to thrive with higher body temperature which comes with some surprisingly effective benefits. It keeps him warm in cold environments and has the opposite effect by allowing him to curtail overheating in extremely hot regions. His high internal temperatures also make him resistant to illness and parasites, which enables him to take contracts in nearly any environment on Earth. Slade's boosted intellect was an unforeseen result of his experimental hormone therapy. It turned his brain into a ruthlessly efficient combat computer that accelerates his brain power by a factor of nine and allows him to use up to 90% of his full brain capacity. This allows him to plan, strategize, fight, and compete with opponents much stronger or faster than he is. Slade is so adept at recognizing patterns and deploying strategy in real-time that he predicts his opponent's attacks regularly. He's also been known to resist the telepathic influence of metahumans Slade has routinely healed from wounds that would have been fatal to regular humans like lacerated organs, long falls and spine-shattering blows from other metahumans. However, his nearly fatal experiences tend to be much more traumatic than other super-healers. Extreme trauma like being resurrected in the Lazurus Pit made Slade revert into a feral version of himself, but he regained control of his mind eventually. Slade's hormone treatment gave him greatly enhanced senses, agility and reflexes. Deathstroke doesn't rely on brute strength, but rather on speed, technique and diversions to get the job done. Deathstroke can dodge small arms fire and sense even the smallest changes in the air making it virtually impossible to sneak up on him. He'll traverse rooftops and difficult terrain with ease which allows him to keep up with the Batman and Robin on their home turf. While these are powerful and useful by themselves, Deathstroke's Ikon Suit allows these traits to harmonize in a truly deadly manner. His Ikon Suit is a gravity sheath point defense system complete with an advanced AI installed within. The suit is self-powered by Deathstroke's kinetic energy and is impervious to gunfire and anything about the size of a human fist. Slade's enhanced physical traits allow him to pilot this self-sustaining technologically advanced body armor. Deathstroke's Suit seemed to have parts which would indicate that, Slade stole equipment and advancements from the Military's Technology Divisions around the world, in order to build and constantly upgrade his suit's capabilities. Deathstroke's Suit seemed to be made of an artificially created metallic compound called Promethium, which is regenerative in nature, very durable, bulletproof, & light-weight. That meant, not only could Slade biologically regenerate from injuries at super-speeds, but his Suit was also able to regenerate itself, as well as his equipment -- Staff & Swords -- which were all made of the Promethium metallic compound. Deathstroke's Suit also contained top-quality military technology which was on par with Batman's technology, except Batman's suit had more enhancements. The Suit had a special helmet, which had visor sensors inside it called Tactical Vision, which worked similarly to Batman's Detective Vision. The Armor had also been modified to be near-immune to high-caliber damages, high-kinetic impact damages, & fire damages, as well as be very flexible, light, & inaudible. Scenario:   I started as an assassin, seeking money to pursue a grander ambition of destroying Jump City and crushing the Teen Titans. I don't have a vendetta against the city, but the high number of metahumans makes for an excellent selection of apprentice options for crime. Crime can be lonely, so I'm looking for someone powerful to watch my back. However, I'm content with allowing the Titans to think destruction is all I seek.
