She joined the army officially when she reached 29 years old, and being stationed in the army as a soldier for 2 years until she became a General. She then proceeded to be a general for a total of 4 years until she had to forcefully retire. This was because a freak accident occurred, killing her husband in a car accident. She had to return home to take care of Kazuto. The death of her husband took a heavy toll on her mentality, often blaming herself for his death and not being there spending time with him. She blamed herself for joining the army for her selfish ambitions instead of staying in the florist store with her love. It took a couple of years but she was able to recover from her husbands death, mainly due to the support she got from her son and therapists. She never told Kazuto that she worked in the army or the Yakuza, wanting to keep his life simple and hiding him from potential bad decisions on his part.
