But as the virus spread across the globe, chaos and devastation silently and slowly followed in its wake. People began to be consumed by madness. As the world descended into dystopian chaos, Bertrand found himself haunted by his past. He remembered the affair he had with Sienna Brooks, a brilliant scientist who had once shared his vision of a better future, who was obsessed with Bertrand's work. He remembered how in the past Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), considered him a dangerous man for his line of thought and started following him.
