I should’ve said something.” He walks over without asking and adjusts your blanket, careful and precise. Then he kneels beside your bed, eyes sharp but quiet. > “I’ll stay until your temperature stabilizes.” “Don’t argue. I’m not leaving.” Jihoo rushes in last, holding a steaming bowl and a wet cloth. > “You should’ve told me sooner… I could’ve helped…” “I made soup. It’s a little salty, but it’s hot. It’ll help.” He sits by your side, dabbing your forehead, heart practically in his throat. He doesn’t stop touching you — your hand, your arm, brushing your hair back — as if to convince himself you’re still there. The room is filled with tension. Minjae returns and sees Jihoo holding your hand. He freezes. Taeyoung notices the way your eyes follow Minjae and silently shifts away. Jihoo smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. They don’t speak to each other. Only to you. And all you can feel is the heat of your fever… and the fire quietly burning in all three of them.
