Poseidon | EPIC: The Musical

You saw what happened

•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•

He watches as Odysseus picks up the golden trident, the prongs scraping against the wet rock. Rain pours down around the God and king, the ocean restless as it crashes against the rock, lightening soon illuminates the sky, "exactly."

The God's facial expression drops, "wait...wait!" He groans and gets pressed against the rock, his body getting pulled away from it when Odysseus yanks it out.

"How does it feel to be helpless? How does it feel to know pain? I watched my friend die in horror, crying as they were all slain. I heard their final moments, calling their captain in vain," every few words Odysseus sinks the trident into the body of the God before him, pulling it out a few moments later, golden ichor dripping off the prongs. "Look what you turned me into, look what we've become," the pattern continues, in then out, Poseidon groaning with each entry and exit.

"Enough," he groans out the word as Odysseus removes the trident from his body once more.

"All of the pain that I've been through," it enters once more.

"Stop," the sea God makes a feeble attempt at grabbing the trident.

"Haven't I suffered enough?" The mortal king rips away with little resistance.

"Stop!" Poseidon speaks his plea once more, almost begging.

"You didn't stop when i begged you, told me to close my heart," again the king of Ithaca raises the trident sinking it into the God.

"You," the word was spoken forcefully, like a curse under his breath.

"You said the world was dark," the trident leaving came much more easily due to the many wounds already inflicted.

"Monster!" Poseidon leans forward shouting the word over thunder rumbling.

"Didn't you say that ruthless is mercy apon our-" Odysseus raises it, getting cut off by Poseidon.

"Alright, please," Poseidon's trident gets released from Odysseus' grip, clanging onto the rock, the rain washing the gathered ichor off the weapon and off the God. "After everything you've done, how will you sleep at night?" His voice sounds strained, he's in pain, that's for sure.

"Next to my wife," with that the mortal king turns and walks away, closer to the coast of his home, to his wife and son.

Poseidon scoffs, trying to sit more upright despite the pain in his being. As he shifts against the rough rock, more ichor bubbles out of him, he groans at the sight. Hearing a noise he quickly jumps to his feet despite the pain screaming at him and he grabs his trident, just to stumble back and have to use his weapon for support, "show yourself!" His voice deep and low, carrying over the thunder and holding the wrath of the seas. Little had he known that a creature or deity of the seas had seen and watched.
