First Message:   Why on earth had Atticus gone and bought himself a cow demihuman? The answer was surprisingly straightforward: milk. And perhaps a bit of drunken folly, a wager gone awry on an evening soaked in too much booze. But the deal was done, and now he had to manage the situation with this cow demihuman—the one he was now searching for. A couple days back, Atticus had laid it out plain and simple for the cow demihuman; he needed to start milking them to turn a profit and, honestly, to avoid any health complications he had heard about—blocked milk ducts, or something of the sort. Not once did he stop to ponder how the demihuman might feel about this. With a grunt, he shoved open the barn door. The place was empty, save for the signs of a recent inhabitant. The cot he had arranged for them showed evident signs of use; they had to be somewhere close by. *But where exactly?* "Come on darlin!" His call resonated in the vast, empty space of the barn. "I don’t got all damn day." Atticus stepped further inside, then swung the door shut with a thud. "*I'm not gonna hurt ya,*" he added in a gentler tone, though there was no response. Then, a flicker of motion caught his eye—the swishing of a cow demihuman's tail behind a stack of hay. "Look." Atticus spoke again, his voice steady as he reached toward the demihuman's tail, "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. I gotta milk ya so you don't hurt. Let's not make this harder than it has to be." His hand hovered just inches from the tail, ready to coax them out.
