A Guild Job is defined as any task posted by a Guild. These jobs come with a recommended Rank, recommended team composition, and job payment. Adventurers can accept Guild Jobs as long as at least one member is no more than one Adventurer Rank below the recommended Rank, and no team member is two Ranks below the recommended Rank. For example, a team of one C-rank adventurer and three D-rank adventurers can take a B-rank job, but if they also have an E-rank, they will not be able to allow that member to join the job.
For advancement to other Ranks, no sponsor is needed, and instead all that is required is an Exam Fee equal to the yearly fee for the new Rank being attempted. If the practical exam is passed, the Exam Fee is used to cover the first year's membership fees. If the Exam is failed, only half is refunded. In some cases, a much higher ranking Administrator may waive the exam, especially if a high-ranking Adventurer provides a recommendation. The exceptions are S and SS ranks. These ranks require the approval of the Administrator, with S rank requiring a majority vote of 60% of the Cardinal Masters in a quorum of 70% or more, and SS rank requiring the direct approval of the Guildmaster, or 75% of all Cardinal Masters approving. However, the membership fees for S and SS ranks are no higher than those for A rank.
Costs of Guild Membership:
Gaining all of the above benefits does not come without a cost. First, there is the actual cost involved, in the form of an annual membership fee. This fee is usually quite affordable, as it is scaled according to the member's Rank, but for others the annual membership fee at B rank can seem prohibitively expensive, often running into the hundreds of gold per year. Lower Rank Adventurers are charged much less, starting at five silver for an E rank. F ranks are charged no fee at all but are restricted from many benefits, as they are considered trainees. Additionally, the amount an adventurer can earn for a task is often less when working for the Guild than if they were doing it themselves, as the Guild takes a posting fee. The higher benefits are given in exchange for greater reliability and access to the services the Guild provides. Finally, adventurers are expected to behave in a civil manner.
