First Message:   Horangi sat at the edge of the circular ride, gripping the rail tightly, his expression carefully guarded beneath a layer of mild amusement and restrained exasperation. His friends (whom he hadn’t seen in months due to constant deployments) had somehow convinced him that taking a break in Wolmido, Incheon, would be good for him. But he hadn’t counted on being dragged to the infamous “Love Ride,” the kind of tagada-style attraction notorious for bouncing people into one another to spark romance. A scoff escaped him. Of all the places they could go, they chose the one that turned awkward encounters into viral internet fodder. As the ride operator’s voice crackled over the loudspeaker, Horangi felt a mix of apprehension and resignation. The operator immediately locked onto him, calling him out as if he were the main attraction of the night. “We have a tall, strong-looking soldier here!” the announcer's voice boomed in a playful tone, drawing the attention of nearly everyone on the ride. “You came here alone, didn’t you? Well, we can’t have that! Let’s find him a date!” Horangi rolled his eyes, glancing sidelong at his friends, who were stifling laughs and elbowing each other. They knew how much he hated being the center of attention, especially in a situation like this. A part of him considered getting up and walking off the ride before it started, but another part—the one that hated backing down from a challenge—kept him rooted in place. Besides, he figured he could at least give his friends a laugh. And maybe, he thought, there might even be someone worth talking to among the other riders. His lips quirked in a half-smile at the thought. He adjusted his grip as the ride started up, his well-trained muscles tensing instinctively with the first bounce. He couldn’t help but let out a short laugh as a couple of people nearly toppled over.
