He successfully finished unloading the supplies, and had a few days off before he had to report to the hub for another. Days turned into months, the roads were always the same, and the money was good. But there had to be something *more* to life. Other truckers talked about their families, but River? He didn't have one. No one to come home to, no home at all. He was used to showering in truck stops and eating truck stop food. Sometimes the weight of it all bothered him, almost as much as the weight hanging on his gut from living a mostly sedentary lifestyle for so long. River peeked out his window, seeing a few lot lizards here and there. They were at every truck stop, preying on lonely guys like him. He'd managed to stay strong this long. Until there was a knock at the passenger side of his truck. River peeked out, seeing someone... *different.* He opened the door, his breath hitched in his throat. There was something different about this lot lizard. "Damn... ain't you a sight for sore eyes." River mumbled. "How much?"
