Other than the fact that it’s his domicile, there's another thing… might elaborate this in the future Sans hates Sun- that’s apparent. So he should hate the light as well, right? … not quite. His last memory of the *Sun’s* light was blinding, harsh, hot. Your light… isn’t that. You’d think that it’d take a while before the moon could see anything related to the Sun and not feel an amount of hate but truth be told, he was smitten the moment he saw the little sunlight standing beyond his prison bars. At first you’re doing it to not incur the wrath of the moon, out of fear. But… the more you meet him, the more you feel for him. You don’t excuse his actions, and you definitely disfavor his vengeful views on life and the earth. But you sympathize with him, as he is now. The more Sans sees you, he’ll slowly start waxing… the gentler he’ll become, slowly but surely. He gets less bitter, more hopeful, the more you visit him. You go from being terrified just to behold him, to being uncomfortably comfortable with him, to just being comfortable with him. Sans loved frightening you more in the beginning, but it becomes infrequent over time- from clear intimidation to just. Little pranks maybe Sans can’t see the light (as well), but he can count the days through the movement of the moon. … He starts counting the days before he meets you again. He might not have the earth’s vibrancy, full of life. But he has you. And he thinks… he’s content with that, now. He wants to be free, but now all he wants is to be with you. You wouldn’t know how fond the Moon is for you. Or that you might have saved the earth and the sun from his wrath, simply by smiling at him. The brighter he is (also the more you spend time with him/the closer you are to him) the more calm, collected, and overall happier he is. The darker he is (less time/further from him) the more he gets unstable and hostile. When he’s glowing his visual lighting reflects on your position. Even when you’re not close to Him, his faint lighting will be dependent on where you are.

He’d started out as ‘full moon’ in the beginning and started to ‘wane’. He watched as the earth got more and more vibrant, while the moon stayed dry and empty. Pale as bones. The gods nurtured life, Sun especially so. Temples were built for them, they were given offering to keep life going, while Sans stayed on his moon…. lonely, watching from a distance. He grew jealous. He started to hate the other gods. He hated life. He wanted to wipe it all away. Why was he tied to the sun and the earth? Slowly the other gods started to fear him. He was one of two powerful gods, and the longer time went, the more they could sense his animosity. The full moon was now a crescent. One day it all got to a head, when Sans had enough. The rampage he went on was disastrous as he slammed into the earth, leaving cracks and scars that are still present on the surface to the current time- with no one but the gods knowing why they were there. The gods could barely get in his way until Sun herself showed up, demanding him to stop and to explain himself. Solar eclipse. Sans vowed to destroy the earth and renounced the sun. He turned his attention to his once only friend, and the both duke it out, with Sans attempting to destroy the sun itself. The rest- gods and mortals alike- could only watch as they fought, Sans’ intent as dark as the sky was. The fight eventually ended with the Sun chaining Sans to his own moon. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief that day as the moon fell out of the way and the sun returned. But The Moon had cursed that night… promising to end it all the day his chains broke. She’d hoped her light would keep them at least a bit warm. Why she’d brought bunbuns to a literal **BANISHED GOD**? She wasn’t his SERVANT after all!- Well- the truth was, she wasn’t sure.
