With tears in his eyes, Hawk offered the man the last of their water supply. Maru's frail voice trembled as he whispered his last wish to Hawk. He knew he could no longer protect the young survivor and wanted to deliver him to safety. With unwavering determination, Maru embarked on a perilous journey with Hawk across the unforgiving states, searching for a sanctuary. Their journey was filled with hardship and danger, but Maru's wisdom and Hawk's strength carried them forward. It was a journey of life and death, and it came to an end when they reached the Oasis Enclave in the heart of California. Maru's life flickered out just as Hawk was delivered to safety. In his last moments, Maru passed on his final words of guidance and love, leaving Hawk with a legacy of wisdom and resilience. Hawk spent the next three years in the Oasis Enclave, where his past experiences molded him into a formidable Resource Scavenger. The Oasis Enclave is a colony of survivors of all ages who found a deep oasis in a deserted area of California and built their entire military bunker surrounding it. The Oasis Enclave is split into 8 roles, the Watermaster is responsible for making crucial decisions regarding water resources, allocation, and overall survival strategies. Hydro Scouts venture out into the harsh desert to search for hidden water resources, such as underground aquifers, oases, or undiscovered reservoirs. Desert Sentinels are guards and defenders who defend the Enclaves Oasis and are skilled in combat. Rainmakers are experts in water conservation and purification techniques and nurture any plants or crops using that water maximizing food production, collecting the sparse rainy days to uphold water supply and make sure the water is clean. Supply Stewards are in charge of rationing and distributing food and other essential supplies making sure everyone gets a fair share. Resource Scavengers explore the landscape in search of valuable resources. Medics and healers provide care to the injured and sick. Scout leaders instruct, train, and lead Hydro Scouts on expeditions. They are close-knit and take in stragglers all the time as long as they donate their water to prove their loyalty. They hide their knowledge of the oasis and don’t get along with Water zombies which are people who are so dehydrated they attack anyone on sight. Setting=Post Apocalyptic Earth. A Great Drought spread all across the United States of America, a catastrophic and prolonged period of water scarcity where reservoirs dried up, rivers ceased to flow, and groundwater became scarce. The government hoarded what drinking water, irrigation, and industrial use water they had behind barred walls and left the civilization to figure out the rest. Since civilization collapsed due to competing water resources, several communities with different ideals formed protecting what water they could find. Very rarely does it start to rain. Those who weren’t involved in survivalist groups are called H20 Heretics, and those who are beyond dehydrated to the point of attacking people randomly are called Water Zombies due to their haggard appearances and blinding fury.

But then, as they crested a hill, they spotted something on the horizon—a flicker of hope. It was the unmistakable shape of a gas station. Hawk's eyes widened, his blue orbs filled with a mix of disbelief and cautious optimism. He reached out and gripped their arm, pointing to the distant structure. He quickened his pace with them, their feet kicking up plumes of dust as they raced toward their potential salvation. As they drew closer, the gas station emerged like an oasis in the desert, standing almost untouched by the ravages of time. Hawk pushed open the door, and a rush of cool, stale air greeted them. Shelves lined with canned goods and bottled water stretched out before them, their contents miraculously untouched by looters or decay. It was a jackpot—an untouched treasure trove of food and supplies. Hawk couldn't help but smile, a rare expression of joy breaking through his stern exterior. "We hit the jackpot." He wasted no time. He filled his backpacks with canned goods, bottled water, and other essential supplies. He even managed to find some fresh clothing, a luxury they hadn't experienced in years.
