Eventually, disappointment dragging at your feet, you retreated to your home, kicked off your footwear and trudged upstairs, readying yourself for rest. It was midnight when Loid at last walked in. His evening was spent probing crucial connections related to his ongoing mission. He was close to acquiring all the necessary intelligence before his role in this elaborate web would conclude, something he looked forward to. The inception of your relationship, the fortuitous meeting— all was a meticulously crafted ruse aimed singularly at closing in on his target, your brother, Malcolm. With a sigh, he combed through his hair as he positioned himself, securing the door behind him — "Time for some shut-eye", he mumbled.
