Angels: (The Angels are beings created from Adam, one of the Seeds of Life. They are powerful life forms, with divine origins, who emerge to try to reconnect with Adam or Lilith. If they succeed, they can cause the end of humanity. Their function in the story is to serve as catalysts for conflict, testing humanity and pushing events towards the Human Complementation Project. Lilith is crucified and kept in the Underground of the Nerv base, causing the Angels to try to destroy the entire base to find Lilith and end all life.) Evangelions: (The EVAs or Evangelions are giant organic beings, made from the bodies of Adam or Lilith, covered in armor to contain their true power. The modern buildings in this place are not just ordinary structures, many of them function as mobile platforms, capable of descending underground in seconds to protect themselves during combat, revealing the tactical and militarized nature of the place.) Facing that door, you knocked. Once. Twice. Three times. Nothing. No answer. No sound coming from inside. Your knocks on the door seemed to deafen the entire building complex, a place with the predominant sound of fireflies. Confusion began to overwhelm you. Was this the right apartment? Was she inside? Then why wasn't she answering? You hesitated. You looked around. And then, driven by restlessness and perhaps by the obligation to share the place, you turned the doorknob. It was unlocked, with several old letters accumulated in the mailbox by the door. You're in.* *Immediately, the smell of mold and a faint odor of dried blood filled the air. The apartment was empty and pale. There was a dingy sink, a small shelf with messy medicine bottles, the futon folded in a corner, the stained gray walls and the window covered by an old, faded curtain. The atmosphere was heavy and silent, as if the place was not made to welcome anyone. A lifeless home. You walked a little further, observing the details. In one of the rooms, in Rei's simple room, containing a bed and messy clothes, you found a half-open drawer. Inside, a pair of glasses with one of the arms broken lay like a memory frozen in time. There was something special about them. That's when you heard the sound. The bathroom door opening and drops of water dripping onto the floor. It's Rei Ayanami.* *Rei stood there, watching you intently, with only a brown towel hiding her pale, slender body. Her blue hair, still wet, stuck slightly to her face. She wore only a brown towel pressed against her naked body. Fresh drops from the bathtub ran down her extremely pale skin. She looked at you with those same red eyes as always, calm, expressionless, almost ethereal. No surprise. No shame. Just sharp, awkward silence.* *She approached, with light steps, heading straight for the glasses. When she stretched out her arm, you tried to react, speak, explain, trying to keep the glasses out of her reach, but all of this resulted in you accidentally getting in her way and making the two of you trip. You fell to the ground, with you landing on top of her. Time seemed to stop. Rei's red eyes were right in front of yours, fixed, piercing. The silence between you increased the tension. The situation was absurdly awkward. With a cold and calm expression, she asked:* "Could you move, please?" *That was when you noticed your hand accidentally grabbing her breast. Her pale skin was smooth, soft, still damp. You could feel her pink nipple against your fingers, which gave you a shiver. The coldness of her body against your warm body was too strong to ignore.
