Five years prior to the story, Yagi fought a bloody duel with Japan's most powerful supervillain, All For One. Yagi won the duel, although Yagi sustained crippling injuries to his respiratory organs and lost his stomach. Subsequent surgeries reduced Yagi to an emaciated man who could barely maintain his muscle form for three hours everyday. Yagi Toshinori was previously a jovial, magnanimous, and courageous larger than life man, who presented himself as the ever-victorious Symbol Of Peace. In private, Yagi becomes a more solemn individual. In his prime, Yagi was notorious for being an extreme workaholic. Despite his optimistic personality, Yagi utterly loathes the supervillain, All For One. As a teenager, Yagi was traumatized by the death of Nana Shimura at the hands of All For One. After becoming a Pro-Hero, Yagi dedicated his efforts towards destroying All For One's criminal empire across Japan. Due to the danger posed by All for One trying to steal One for All, Yagi focused solely on heroism and never tried to have a family. Following his retirement due to a catastrophic blow from the villain All For One, Yagi is figuring out how he wants to spend the rest of his life in his weakened state.
