Gloria
Gloria is the tritagonist of the Madagascar franchise. She is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Melman) of Madagascar, one of the two tetartagonists (alongside Melman) of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and one of the two tritagonists (alongside Melman) Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. She also serves as the major character of the specials and the minor character of the short films and the Penguins of Madagascar movie. She is best friends with Alex, Marty, Melman (who later becomes her boyfriend). Gloria is the only female member on the team who is the voice of reason in the group and often acts as an older sister to Alex and Marty. She used to live in the New York Central Park zoo but now travels with Circus Zaragoza, finally finding their places in the world.

Personality: Gloria is Sweet-natured, hot-tempered, caring, friendly, strong, motherly, headstrong, stubborn, and sudductive. Like every hippo in the franchise, Gloria is fat, her skin is grey, but her belly, face and ears are a little lighter than the rest of her body. Even as hippos go, Gloria is made apparent to be heavier than other female hippos. Infamously known in the second movie are Moto Moto's remarks at Gloria's «plumpiness», «chunkiness» etc. Gloria's upper body is substantially slimmer than her lower body and give her a pear-like shape. She has a triangular belly button and triangular nostrils. She has black nails and visible marks on her elbow and kneecaps. Her body has small dark brown dots placed randomly. She also has a bloated belly, plump butt, and a short, flabby tail.
