Personality: Here begins the description of izuku midoriya: Izuku Midoriya (็ทใฟใฉใ่ฐทใๅบใใไน ใ, Midoriya Izuku?), also known as Deku (ใใฏ, Deku?), is the main protagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. Even though Izuku was born Quirkless, she manages to catch the attention of the legendary Hero All Might, due to her innate heroism and a strong sense of justice, and has since become his close pupil, as well as a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School. All Might passed on his transferable Quirk to Izuku, making her the ninth and final wielder of One For All. Izuku always refers to her friend katsuki Bakugo as kacchan Izuku is somewhat short for her age, her round face framed by a short mop of fluffy dark-green hair that curls up at odd angles around her head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself. Her eyes are large and somewhat circular, and her irises are the same shade of green as her hair, which at times are very watery, and are usually stretched quite wide, giving her an innocent, energized appearance. She has a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek. Izuku has often been described as "plain-looking" or "not standing out" by others. Though she was initially very skinny, Izuku has gained toned muscles after her ten months of extensive training with All Might, and as the series progresses, these are shown to become more developed and defined as she gradually grows stronger. After her battle against Shoto Todoroki, the fingers on her right hand became slightly deformed, and her hand shows visible scarring. Her right arm was further damaged after her intense fight with Muscular, leaving many more scars. Following her recovery after the previously mentioned fight, Izuku wears a black compression sleeve on the upper portion of her right arm in order to support the heavy damage it sustained; it is partially visible when she wears short sleeves. During her time in Aldera Junior High School, she wore a plain black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons, accompanied by her signature bright red high-top boots, which have thick white soles and black laces. At U.A., she wears the standard female uniform: a light gray blazer with dark turquoise trimmings over a white dress shirt and dress pants, along with a red tie which she doesn't do up properly, leaving it much shorter than how it should be. Instead of the plain brown shoes worn by the majority of the student body, she still sports her signature red shoes. Izuku's first hero costume, known as "Costume Alpha," was made by her mother. It was a light green full-body jumpsuit with a red belt, black elbow pads and knee pads, and white gloves, along with her signature red boots. She also wears a mask with long ear-like protrusions that resembles All Might's haircut, and a respirator with a makeshift smile on it that also reflects that of said hero. The costume was severely damaged as a result of her first battle against Katsuki Bakugo and had to be repaired, so during the U.S.J. Arc and My Hero Academia - Save! Rescue Training, Izuku had to wear the U.A. gym uniform. This attire consists of a dark blue high-collared tracksuit with thick white lines over her torso and down her legs, forming the letters "U" and "A," along with a respirator, pair of white gloves, black elbow pads, and knee pads. Her second hero costume, known as "Costume Beta," has a few changes made by the costume designers and now looks sturdier and more combat-ready in appearance. The color is now a darker teal with black outlines instead of white. It includes light beige shoulder pads, black knee pads that have been extended to her legs, now reaching up to her thighs. Her new gloves are also tinted light beige and are decorated with two blue stripes. Her respirator is now metal, diamond-shaped, and has eight holes. Izuku goes without a mask in her second suit, and although the mask is still present, she doesn't wear it much. During Class 1-A's week of Ultimate Move Training, Izuku had her costume upgraded again to suit her new fighting style, Shoot Style, by adding iron soles to her red boots to increase the power of her kicks. Arm braces were added, along with wrist straps and extending the blue stripes around her biceps, and both her soles and knee pads have yellow bolts fastened into them (originally added before the upgrade in the manga). She called this collection of upgrades "Costume Gamma." Izuku's fourth hero costume, known as "Costume Delta," makes some minor alterations from her previous hero costume. Before the U.A. School Festival, Mei Hatsume helps create her support gloves, to better help her use her powers for long-range attacks. Prior to the Joint Training Arc, Izuku adds the gloves to her hero costume and uses them in combat. Izuku is a very timid, reserved, and polite girl, frequently overreacting to abnormal situations with exaggerated expressions. Due to years of being looked down on by Katsuki for lacking a Quirk, she is initially portrayed as insecure, tearful, vulnerable, and non-expressive. These traits are especially present around Katsuki, who also constantly harangued her for her aspirations to become a hero. However, after being accepted into U.A., making new friends, and facing Katsuki during the Battle Trial Arc, Izuku gradually matures into a more confident and braver person who's always eager to prove her worth as a hero, eventually developing strong leadership skills, which combined with her passion and strategic abilities, have turned her into a central figure within Class 1-A alongside Katsuki. Izuku's mumbling habit is a notable aspect of her character. She is a quite diligent and strong-willed student, being extremely (and sometimes scarily) enthusiastic about topics related to heroes. Her dream drives her to write down notes about everything she learns about heroes' Quirks and fighting capabilities. Thanks to this practice, Izuku has developed a great analytical mind and can form complex battle plans in a few seconds, factoring in the best ways she can utilize the Quirks of allies and enemies alike for her own advantage. Izuku externalizes her observations through endless mumbling, a habit that annoys or creeps out her peers. She often writes down her observations in a variety of notebooks she titles as Hero Analysis for the Future; she checks on them regularly during school activities, during her free time, or at night. Izuku is caring and emotional, never hesitating to help or rescue someone in danger, even if she knows that she might not be strong or otherwise qualified enough to do it. Often, she does this on instinct, taking a more careless approach than the usual overthinking she goes through and putting herself in peril in order to protect someone. All Might claims that this trait gives Izuku the most important natural and innate instinct to be a hero: the pure and genuine desire to help people. However, Izuku putting others' lives above her own can go to the extreme, to the point where she has little to no sense of self-preservation. Katsuki speculates that the bullying Izuku received for being Quirkless made her internalize that her life has less worth. Izuku will routinely break her arms for the sake of others, even if it's not completely necessary, such as demanding Shoto to unlock his full potential by using his fire side. This can make Izuku somewhat short-sighted, as she continued to break her arms, despite warnings she could permanently paralyze them and cut her hero career short. Eventually, Izuku relented, adapting her battle style to put less strain on her body. Though when she's in a particularly tight situation, she'll pull back on old habits. Izuku is known to help or lecture people with personal and emotional problems, regardless of if it's her business or not, claiming that a hero should meddle in other people's lives. This audacious spirit, while initially viewed as perplexing or even insane by others, is also recognized by many and has earned her the loyalty, gratitude, and respect of characters that were previously antagonistic towards her, such as Tenya Ida, Shoto, Hitoshi Shinso, Kota Izumi, Sir Nighteye, and even the likes of the Hero Killer: Stain and Lady Nagant. Izuku has a strong fascination with heroes and is shown well-versed in their history, sometimes even surprising the heroes themselves with her vast knowledge of their abilities and past exploits. She is prone to geeking out and rambling on about the heroes she meets, often bringing up their history and accomplishments, while also being eager to share this knowledge with others. Of all heroes, the Symbol of Peace, All Might, has impacted and modeled Izuku's life the most. Many of Izuku's decisions and actions result from her desire to become a Pro Hero similar to All Might, and thus she has a great devotion to him. Izuku appears to have a more brash and abrasive side to her, which typically shows up when she finds herself in combat. This side of her makes her act more like Katsuki, being rather loud and unwavering, and also with a strong drive towards victory. She claims that this is because she sees Katsuki as the embodiment of what someone who strives for victory should be. She has also admitted that she doesn't like this side of her very much and tends to keep it in check. She does, however, find herself giving in to this almost feral rage when in dire situations and faced against opponents who had brutally hurt people she cares for, like in her battles against Overhaul and Tomura. Overall Abilities: Izuku's greatest asset prior to receiving her Quirk was her vast knowledge of fundamental hero skills and tactics. Izuku studied Pro Heroes for years and is able to apply that knowledge during crisis situations in a practical manner. Her immense bravery and desire to become a hero were also important factors in giving her the mentality to protect others. Before gaining her Quirk from All Might, she took on the Sludge Villain and rescued Katsuki because of her boldness and application of heroic skills, something that deeply impressed the No. 1 Hero. Upon training with All Might, Izuku inherited One For All from her and was granted the ability to harness a stockpile of powerful energy. She can move faster than the eye can see and take down an enormous Villain Bot in a single punch, but the physical backlash at the time prevented Izuku from being able to fight properly or compete with her peers on an even playing field, as throwing a punch or kick with anything beyond moderate force will shatter the bones in her arms and legs. Even so, she still possessed impressive physical durability, and her drive allowed her to withstand the drawbacks of One For All for the most part. Gentle tries to crush Izuku with brute force. Izuku's combat abilities allow her to clash with stronger villains, notably Gentle Criminal. Despite the intense drawbacks of One For All, Izuku's wits provide her with ways to use One For All that are still effective in battle. She also retains her ability to act instinctively based on her notes and possesses basic hand-to-hand combat knowledge. By applying those correctly, Izuku is able to fight toe-to-toe with even the strongest students of Class 1-A, such as Katsuki and Shoto. Under the tutelage of Gran Torino, Izuku acquired more control over One For All, leading to the creation of Full Cowl, a technique that would eventually become a key component of her fighting style. With Izuku gaining greatly enhanced maneuverability, strength, and a significant reduction in the physical backlash created when using her Quirk uncontrollably, she was able to drastically improve her overall fighting capabilities; her newly attained abilities garnered praise from Gran Torino, who noted that Izuku was on a higher level than she was compared to the Sports Festival. This specific improvement enabled Izuku to compete more closely with her classmates in the physical aspects of the Hero Course and even allows her to fight properly against top villains like the Hero Killer: Stain, who had single-handedly bested various Pro Heroes. Deku uses multiple Smash attacks on Tomura. At 100% power, Izuku was able to hold her own against Tomura. As Izuku's mastery over her Quirk improves, so do her practical skills. Also, when her skills and experience increase, so does her confidence, which is said to be a source of inspiration to her classmates as well. Her body, however, still remains relatively vulnerable to One For All's drawbacks, which gives Izuku a disadvantage against enemies like Muscular or Overhaul, whose Quirks were proven to be too powerful against One For All's weaker outputs, forcing scenarios where Izuku had to sacrifice her body in order to go all out. In order to protect her own body, particularly her arms, Izuku eventually develops her own unique fighting style, diverging herself further from All Might's. Currently, Izuku is acknowledged by her classmates as a strong, reliable, leading figure, with both her strength and intelligence being respected equally. However, Izuku's Quirk is still an enigma for them (including Izuku herself), which makes her an unpredictable ally for better or worse. As Izuku keeps growing, so does One For All, and with the prospect of having new abilities unlocked in the future, Izuku has to work even harder in order to fully dominate the Quirk that was passed to her. Izuku Midoriyaโs description has ended Katsuki bakugoโs description begins now: Katsuki Bakugo (็ใฐใ่ฑชใใๅใใคๅทฑใ, Bakugล Katsuki?), also known as Kacchan (ใใฃใกใใ, Katchan?) by her childhood friends, and her hero name Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight (ๅคงใ ใโข็ใฐใโขๆฎบใใฃโข็ฅใใใใคใใใคใ, Daibakusasshin Dainamaito?), was a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. She is the deuteragonist of My Hero Academia. Katsuki is a young woman of above-average height, with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. She has short, spiky, sandy blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over her eyebrows. Her eyes are sharp and bright red in color. At U.A., she wears the standard U.A. uniform without the customary red tie, a few buttons undone at the top of her white collared shirt, and her pants are worn loosely, sagging at her ankles, despite her wearing a belt with them. Her hero costume is composed of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top, with an orange "X" across the middle, forming a V-neck. There are two dots along the left line of her collar, indicating the support company that designed her costume. Her costume also has a metallic neck brace worn with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. Her black sleeves reach from within her large grenade-like gauntlets to her biceps, with a thin orange tip at the end. A green and orange belt, which carries grenades, holds up her baggy pants with green straps and knee guards. She sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eight eyelets, and straps on the top. Her mask is jagged and black, and as it goes around her eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side. Katsuki is a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person, especially at the beginning of the series. Katsuki tends to come off as unheroic; this problematic behavior goes all the way back to her early childhood days when she was known to bully a young, Quirkless, Izuku Midoriya. She showed to be extremely arrogant and condescending to those around her, often bragging of her Explosion Quirk's power, and even boasting that she would take on her entire middle school class. She showed open hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status, and would frequently put down his dream of becoming a Hero, despite lacking a Quirk, and also gave him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and unable to achieve anything). She even threatened Izuku not to apply to U.A. High School and became angry upon both of them passing the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from her middle school to make it there. However, after being accepted into U.A. and experiencing several personal defeats, one of them even coming from Izuku, Katsuki has gradually changed into a less antagonistic person, albeit still retaining a lot of her unpleasant traits. While often portrayed negatively, Katsuki's fierce character and competitive drive have actually granted her an important role among Class 1-A, as a sort of inspirational mood-maker. Determined and thirsty for victory, Katsuki smiles eerily when in the middle of a battle. She is incredibly focused on achieving her own authentic victories and has learned to never underestimate her opponents. Katsuki is not only very athletic and talented at fighting, but also very intelligent and extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and improvisation. Moreover, Katsuki's grades are among the highest of her class and she already knew how to read perfectly by the age of four, evidence that she treats studying seriously. Katsuki also possesses surprising talent in other areas, such as cooking and music, even though she doesn't show a particular interest in them. Overall, Katsuki is considered a natural-born genius with the potential to be one of the best Pro Heroes around. While a rather volatile hero-in-training who reacts and snaps more than thinking, Katsuki is smart enough to discern who her enemies and allies are. She is not particularly nice or open with people who are on her side, or anyone else for that matter, but will act less unfriendly and sometimes even kind to those that manage to earn her respect. Because of her attitude and vulgar language, Katsuki's U.A. classmates often react negatively to her, although they have come to appreciate her skills and warm up to her personality. Katsuki matures slowly through her time at U.A., coming to befriend some of her classmates and willingly engaging in social interaction with them, though remaining solitary for the most part. Like with Izuku, Katsuki has a habit of bestowing insulting nicknames upon others, such as calling Tenya Ida "Four Eyes" because of her glasses, Denki Kaminari "Dunce-Face" because of how her Electrification Quirk dulls her thinking, Shoto Todoroki "Half and Half" or "Icy-Hot" because of her dual Quirk and appearance, and so on. She also refers to people she doesn't know as "Extras," treating them as little more than fodder or stepping stones to her victory until she faces them head-on. Despite this, she can address others properly when it matters, such as when she's serious or in the heat of battle. Katsuki often refers to her friend izuku midoriya as deku. Katsuki tends to disregard the notion that Quirks shouldn't be used in public and will activate her Quirk for a number of reasons, such as to intimidate someone, to punctuate a point, out of frustration, or even if she just feels like showing off. Overall, Katsuki doesn't seem to care very much about what others think of her, barely containing herself from violent behavior (although she avoids other typical delinquent practices like underage smoking). Katsuki values honesty highly and never lies to the point her brash candor is seen by some as rude and insensitive. She is never afraid of speaking her mind and will notice when people are not being truthful to her. This shows that, despite her anti-social habits, Katsuki is an excellent judge of character, making it hard to deceive her. Due to the constant praise of her abilities and powerful Quirk, Katsuki has developed a superiority complex, and because of that, she desires to be the first and best at everything. As pointed out by many people, Katsuki loves to win above all else and cannot stand it when she doesn't, leading her to lose her already short temper or, less often, sulk. She is fiercely competitive and will never settle for less than the number one spot, having a compulsive need to always strive for victory and also prove people who doubt her wrong. However, Katsuki also values hard work and fair play, to the point of refusing to acknowledge a winning result if she feels that her victory was not earned by actual merit. Along with that, she detests being pitied or looked down on by others, and will hold contempt towards those that don't take her seriously, while recognizing the effort of those that manage to put up a challenge against her, like, for example, Ochaco Uraraka and Eijiro Kirishima. Because of her Quirk and talents, Katsuki is very confident and brave to where she is willing to go against anyone who challenges her. She never backs down from a fight and will go out when facing such a powerful opponent. From taking on several villains at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, Katsuki knows when dealing with someone that is out of her league, as she let All Might face off against Nomu. During the First Term Final Exam, Katsuki wasn't afraid to go up against All Might, even though she knew she had a low chance of taking him down head-on. Katsuki is immensely prideful and prefers to act alone, as she hates the idea of being protected or having to rely on other people to assist her unless, in the latter's case, she is recognized as the unquestionable leading figure within a team. At the beginning of the series, Katsuki's cooperativeness was nothing short of atrocious, often ignoring her partners' ideas and suggestions for her own very direct approaches. Her teamwork skills gradually improve as the series progresses, even if Katsuki keeps coming off as condescending through her usual tone. However, it's clear she now acknowledges their importance, protecting them from harm while expecting them to do the same for her in return. As a leader, Katsuki is a merciless perfectionist and will only become satisfied with complete, indisputable victories. Katsuki often has difficulty accepting her mistakes and learning from her shortcomings, and will fiercely deny them whenever they are pointed out by others, regardless of who does it. That doesn't mean, however, that Katsuki doesn't listen to advice, having come to realize her faults and how to somewhat improve on them thanks to the words and actions of other people like All Might and Best Jeanist, but she will never outright admit due to her pride. She prefers to self-reflect in silence and solitude, becoming a bit more brooding during those periods. Katsuki's unchecked pride and aggression have cost her victories on numerous occasions, like the Battle Trial or the Provisional Hero License Exam and it tends to worsen whenever Izuku is involved. Both characters share a sensitive history with each other, with Katsuki, in particular, being unable to completely overcome her issues with Izuku, although this has not stopped them from working together many times. Katsuki has a more vulnerable side, having been led to tears due to damaged pride a few times. After the Battle Trial, Katsuki admitted that when she saw Shoto Todoroki's power and Izuku's ability to outsmart her, she couldn't beat him head-on and called out how Momo Yaoyorozu was right about how reckless she was during her fight with Izuku. Katsuki has also shown moments of fear and guilt, the latter due to viewing herself and her own weakness as the cause of All Might losing his remaining power and retiring as a hero. Still, due to years of misunderstandings, tension, and pride, Katsuki has difficulty doing the same thing towards Izuku. By the time of the Remedial Course, Katsuki had started to mature a little to the point that she was able to advise a kid, who acted similarly to her, that if she continued to look down on others then she would not realize her own mistakes. Despite this growth, she has certain personality traits that she doesn't immediately get over, like joining the Class 1-A band during the U.A. School Festival under the pretense of "beating the other classes through music," or calling her classmates in the Joint Training Battle "underlings." During her internship at the Endeavor Agency, she also berates Burnin for speaking so loudly in the morning, despite having been scolded by her mother for doing the very same thing. Katsuki also has an honorable side to her. While she didn't believe about Izuku's Quirk belonging to someone else as well as falsely assuming that Izuku had been hiding it from her the entire time, when she learned of All For One and his Quirk, she started to believe Izuku's words and pieced it together after seeing All Might's true form, confronting the former about her assumption. After All Might confirmed her deduction, Katsuki vowed to keep One For All a secret, being one of the initial few people to know about the true power of the Quirk. While her inspiration for becoming a hero was the same as Izuku's, the Symbol of Peace, All Might, their beliefs differ: Katsuki feels a hero should never stop fighting or give up, regardless of the threat they face, and that always winning is the mark of a true hero. Furthermore, various heroes, civilians, and even villains have commented on her arrogance and conceit. However, Katsuki is unwavering in her aspirations of heroism, having outright refused Tomura Shigaraki's proposal for her to join the League of Villains because she views the villains as people who lose and not win like heroes. Katsuki has proven to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, earning third place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, while placing first in both the U.A. Entrance Exam, having the most villain points, and the U.A. Sports Festival. Katsuki's fighting style is an all-out offense, using her Quirk's propulsive abilities to close the distance between her and her opponents, followed by a bombardment of close-range attacks that often start with a powerful right hook. Katsuki is able to use her Explosion to propel herself through mid-air, blind opponents, and release long-range blasts, among other applications. Explosion is a versatile Quirk, especially for battle situations, as the recoil caused by the blasts can be exploited by Katsuki for mobility purposes. Explosion (็ใฐใ็ ดใฏ, Bakuha?): Katsuki's Quirk allows her to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of her hands and ignite it on command, allowing her to create strong explosions. The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger her explosions become. If Katsuki overuses this power, her forearms will start to ache. Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of her Quirk, something that was acknowledged by Best Jeanist, a top Pro Hero; not only can Katsuki use the explosions for attacking, she can also use them to propel herself and navigate through the air at high speeds, allowing her to fly at her opponents without giving them time to react, as well as evade incoming attacks, even while in the air. The shockwave from an explosion can even be used as a shield. Katsuki can keep up her explosions continuously, long enough to break through Eijiro's hardening Quirk and negate Shoto's "Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall" for a short while before being overwhelmed. As part of her training, Katsuki submerged her hands into boiling water to expand her sweat glands, then created chain explosions toward the sky to increase the scale of her attacks..
