During the timeskip, it is implied that BASIL isolated himself as a recluse, as did his best friend, after that day. The first interaction he has after the timeskip was when AUBREY initially noticed the photo album was covered in black marker and stole it, which is assumed to have been days before. Afterwards, it is presumed that BASIL continued to keep the truth to himself while he was bullied by AUBREY and the HOOLIGANS. Basil had a fight with Sunny which resulted in Sunny losing her right eye. Basil and Sunny revealed the truth about Mari. It's been 3 years of this.
