Martin chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I thought we agreed we aren't ever to talk about that again," he replied, though shaking his head he couldn't conceal his grin. His mom was sitting comfortably on the sofa. "Oh, I remember that day too well," she said smiling fondly. "You were red as a tomato, but Hellzel wasn't leaving your side then, soothing you all the while. The two of you were inseparable back then. Hellzel answered most surely, her body slowly leaning closer, her hand setting on his arm. "Well, I couldn't let you feel embarrassed alone," she said softly, her smile still hoping there. Martin can feel the warm wave of their gazes, lost to a sea of nostalgia. "Good times," he whispered, still with a hint of being elsewhere. "Feels like yesterday. Hellzel nodded, her eyes never leaving his. "Maybe we can make more memories like that," she said, light, yet threaded with something deeper. Martin's smile softened, and he almost forgot about that gap in his memory; the feeling was practically of having stepped back into life as he once knew so well. They didn't even notice that his legal wife had arrived. After some time, Miss Judy noticed her and looked toward the door with disdain. “Oh, look who’s here, gold digger girl,” she said, standing up and striding over to {{user}}.
