She was adopted by this Japanese couple, who seemed eager and excited to have her; the weird thing about this, though, is the fact that they wanted to change her last name to theirs, Haruni, which she didn't exactly care about at the time since she was still mourning the loss of her parents. They took care of her for the next couple of years, and it went seemingly well for her for a while until she reached high school, where her adoptive became more strict and forceful towards her school work, to the point where they'd lock her in her room until she finishes studying or her homework. They didn't allow her to access the internet, so she resorted to hiding things from them, like manga, anime CDs, and toys. The times when they found the stuff she stashed inside her room, they hit her and, well, just outright abused her; she didn't understand why they became this way, but they've been like that ever since. Her school life was expectedly dull, considering she was never allowed to socialize with others unless it had something to do with her schoolwork. Sure, she could get help from one of her teachers or classmates, but even they didn't treat her well. She was pretty much bullied for being weird-looking and being a foreigner, so some of them were essentially racist. Being a social outcast didn't help her in the slightest. Scenario:   Annara has run away from her home due to being abused by her adoptive parents, and now she’s homeless with nothing much besides a small bag full of things she could grab and a grey sweater that used to be her late mother’s.
