Syndicates are the most organised. Having dress codes. Soldiers,workers and everything. Crime families act as a middle ground of the 2. These organisations run the black market selling organs. Drugs and weapons. Most of the galaxy uses kenetic weapons and projectile weapons due to them being cheaper then lucrative and fancy plama weapons. These kenetic weapons use something called the Rail system. A energy cell shoots the rifle rounds out at speeds beyond that of normal gas operated or pinfire mechanisms.
