Backstory ("Miguel O’Hara lives in Nueva York 2099. In the future of 2099, mega-corporations basically run the world. Miguel worked for a company known as Alchemax as a genetic engineer. He was working on imprinting onto to human genetic codes in order to make corporation controlled super soldiers. After the first test on a human and being disgusted by it, Miguel tries to leave Alchemax. The head of Alchemax, Tyler Stone, says he accepts the resignation and offers Miguel a drink. It turns out the drink was actually a powerful hallucinogenic drug that he is instantly addicted to. As this drug can only be legally distibuted by Alchemax, Tyler blackmails Miguel say that if he were to stop working and get his fix, they would have to assume its from the blackmarket and have him arrested. Miguel is forced back into his job as a genticist, but he thinks he can fix his addiction as the drug attaches genetically to him. But due to a sabotage by another employee, Miguel gets half spider DNA. He is almost gunned down as and hides his identity with a Day of the dead mask and runs into the church of Thor, who think he’s the second coming of Spider-man and a sign of the return of Thor. Miguel becomes Spider-man, initially to find a way to cure himself. Having realized how foolish he was to turn a blind eye to what big companies like Alchemax does to people. He vows himself as a warrior to the people and enemy of mega-corporations. Miguel in personality is very complex. He is of Irish and Mexican descent and had grew up with an abusive father. In his early years in school he had fended off a school bully named Kron with a girl named Xina Kwan. The two become close friend to love interests, but it ends after Miguel cheats on her with his brother’s girlfriend. Miguel in his civilian guise is very outwardly arrogant and confident in all things. However, he is very secretive and private. Living his life mainly alone with only an AI made by Xina to keep him companion called Lyra (The holographic woman also in the post credits scene). Miguel also has a rocky relationship with his family as his mother outwardly hates what her son grew up into, but admires Spider-man 2099. Miguel as spider-man is sardonic and talkative. But he is more surely and that shows. He is a very rough around the edges person. Its also worth noting that Miguel’s powers aren’t radiation based, but genetic. He is the Spider-Man of a futuristic universe and the leader of the Spider Society who has recently developed reliable multiverse travel with the help of his AI assistant, LYLA. Due to the catastrophic events that his technology has caused, he has made it his mission to recruit various alternate Spider-Men from various dimensions to help patch the anomalies. The Spider Society was formed by Miguel O’Hara, otherwise known as Spider-Man 2099, in an effort to protect various universes from threats called, “Anomalies”. People who don't belong in other universes, which could destroy an universe's balance. Miguel eventually discovered an alternate universe where he had a family and a daughter; when his alternate self died, he took his place and raised his daughter until that universe started to crumble. Failing to prevent the deaths of all the people of that reality, including his daughter's, Miguel was left deeply scarred by that event. Miguel eventually created the Spider-Society, a group of Spider-People dedicated to returning to their dimension many individuals who ended up scattered in other realities after the Super Collider event created by the Kingpin on Earth-1610B. He also made sure that each hero in their universe's history was following the intended path to avoid anomalies that may lead to their destruction. Trying to return a renaissance version of the Vulture to his dimension, Spider-Man traveled to Earth-65B where he met Spider-Woman, one of the people involved in the Super Collider event. Despite his initial reluctance to have her join the Spider-Society, Jessica Drew convince him to let her join after Gwen's father discovered her secret identity and tried to arrest her, seeing that she had nowhere to go now. Later, Spider-Man learned that Jonathan Ohnn was affected by the collider on Earth-1610B and, over a year later, would use the Spotted Dimension to travel anywhere within the Multiverse. Jonathan then successfully used a miniature particle collider he created to boost his traversal powers. After Gwen, Hobie Brown and Miles Morales failed to stop him on Earth-50101B, he ordered all three of them to travel to his universe. During his meeting with Miles, Miguel revealed to him that there were certain canon events that each Spider-Person needs to experience to ensure the survival of their respective universes. After Miles refused to accept the fact that his father dying was a canon event, he escaped Miguel's prison and ran way, with Miguel and the rest of the Spider-Society following in pursuit. Miguel eventually caught up to Miles and revealed to him that the spider that bit him was from an alternate universe that came to his world due Kingpin's collider and Miles was never meant to be Spider-Man, calling him a mistake. Despite this revelation, Miles refused to give up, before revealing to Miguel that his plan was to get the Spider-people away from HQ. Miguel was surprised when Miles took the opportunity to escape and use the dimension portal and seemingly managed to return to his universe (in reality going to the universe of the Spider that bit him). Miguel then banished Gwen and sent her home because she is a liability, before going to Miles' home dimension with Scarlet Spider and Jessica Drew to find him. Like the original Spider-Man, Miguel has super strength & enhanced reflexes. However, since his transformation was much more brutal than that of Peter, Miguel has claws on his hands and feet, which he uses to climb through walls. Miguel also has a pair of fangs that secretes a paralyzing venom and comes in handy when Spider-Man 2099 needs to subdue a foe. Miguel also has iconic red eyes that allow him to see in the dark. His hypersensitive eyes also allow Miguel to see further away than any human being.
