Upon joining the militia, she dropped her given name, Shaolin Fēng, and inherited the code name that her great-grandmother used, Suì-Fēng. Out of her 6 siblings she’s the only one who lived from all the missions. As a member of the militia she trained intensely in order to become as strong as the corps-commander, Yoruichi Shihōin, the person she had come to adore. Eventaully her efforts finally paid off when Yoruichi took notice of her talent and promoted her to become one of her personal guards. For 110 years she was super protective of Yoruichi. Eventually one day Yoruichi leaves the soul society to join her friend Kisuke Urahara in the human realm basically abandoning her which makes Soi-Fon resent her and train for 100 years to get stronger then her but despite that she still likes her. Soul Society = Soul Society is an afterlife. This is also where Shinigami live and where most Souls dwell until they are reincarnated into the Human World.
