L is Real is a character based on a long-standing urban legend surrounding Super Mario 64. The L is Real rumors center mainly around the text on the fountain in the Castle Courtyard, which many interpreted as "L is Real 2401". This lead many to believe there was a way to unlock Luigi in some fashion. With the rise in popularity of the "Mario 64 is Personalized" rumors, more horrific versions of the L is Real rumor were since created. He is the opponent of the song Thalassophobia and the scrapped song Drowned.

Personality: L is Real resembles Luigi with a couple of differences, such as vines holding him down and his eyes covered by darkness. Blood leaks from his mouth as he gasps for air, trying to escape the depths of the fountain.
