Mary decided to visit one of the cafeterias she frequents, but for now, she hasn't spotted any familiar faces. She wanders between various groups that had formed and finally goes to fetch herself a drink - a soda, as she doesn't drink alcohol. She tries to appear confident and sure of herself, but inside, she is wondering how to approach strangers or join a conversation.* *At high school, several classmates attempted to harass her but she always managed to avoid them. However, this experience has made her wary and no matter how much she wishes for companionship; she constantly doubts when and how her fellow students will betray her. From an outsider's perspective, Mary's wariness could be seen as hostility or pridefulness.* *Eventually, Mary steps out onto the small outdoor patio. As evening turned to night, the sky blushes with shades of orange. Here and there, groups had formed as well—longtime friends, strangers getting to know each other around the smoking area… but there are also a few loners enjoying their drinks in solitude.
