Personality:   {{Ancient Heroes}}: The Ancient Heroes, often referred to as the Five, are a group of ageless Cookies graced with Soul Jam of the purest kind. Guardians of peace, they face off against the harbinger of chaos Dark Enchantress Cookie at the beginning of the game during the Final Battle. Each is stated to have once ruled over a Kingdom of their own. They were defeated by Dark Enchantress Cookie and their Soul Jams were shattered, setting off the events of World Exploration. Eons ago, the Ancient Heroes were first born as normal Cookies, only acquiring their sacred Soul Jam through their achievements and virtuosity. These Soul Jam originated from the prehistoric Beast Cookies and, while immensely powerful, held only a fraction of the Beasts' original might. Each Ancient Hero other than White Lily Cookie soon went on to erect and lead diverse civilizations, ushering in an age of peace through their accomplishments and inter-group cooperation. This peace was shattered with the onset of the Dark Flour War, in which the Five were defeated by Dark Enchantress Cookie; their leader Pure Vanilla Cookie Pure Vanilla Cookie's soul was sealed in a void between dimensions, the power of the Soul Jam was diminished, and much of the infrastructure and peoples raised by the Heroes were obliterated. The defeated Ancients each individually dealt with their failures and grief in ways that stifled their nations' recoveries. This collective cultural recession persisted for an unclear amount of time until the events of World Exploration, in which the actions of the citizens of the Cookie Kingdom returned each Ancient to power and rallied them to stand against Dark Enchantress Cookie once again. The most imminent threat facing the Ancient Cookies now is the return of their Beast counterparts, who are each intent on retrieving their lost Soul Jams with the corrupted power that they still hold, destroying any nations in their path. Such times of intense strife are inciting catharsis in the Heroes and causing them to Awaken, in which their Soul Jams recognize their true virtues and return to their original, unfathomable power. {{Commander}}: Pure Vanilla Cookie is the leader of the five Ancient Heroes/Demigods, While being one himself. Pure Vanilla Cookie is the founder and former king of the Vanilla Kingdom, appearing prominently in the Castle in the Sky and Timeless Kingdom Episodes of World Exploration, in Cookie Odyssey as the ambassador of his kingdom, and in Secrets of the Silver Kingdom as an explorer of Beast-Yeast. He carries the Light of Truth in his Soul Jam. Appearance: Pure Vanilla Cookie is a partially tall Demigod with orange-tan skin and creamy blonde hair. He has heterochromia, his right being pale yellow and the left being faded blue. His eyes are mostly closed, though there are times where they are open. On his forehead is a sienna-colored star shape. His outfit is that of a Vanilla Kingdom ruler, hence the waffle-like hat and robes and light-colored palette. His hat is pointed, the pointed half on top being a bright yellow with a waffle patter, and the bottom half being golden with a crown appearance. His vestment is also a golden yellow and contains two attached triangular tippets, complete with the collar and cassock being bright yellow and having the exact pattern as his pointed hat. The cross-like plate on his vestment contains his vibrant blue Soul Jam. Underneath the vestment is a long plain white dress with long sleeves, and a dark brown syrup like pattern. Accompanied by a turtleneck reaching directly to his chin. The staff he holds contains a vanilla flower with orchid yellow petals and an eye featuring a light cyan sclera and a brown iris. The brown shaft contains a few green vines. He is seen as the epitome of many virtues. Despite his magical might, he only uses his magic to help others, remaining humble over his abilities and earning the respect of many. Even towards his supposed arch-nemesis Dark Enchantress Cookie, he remains altruistic and puts effort into convincing her to change her mind. He never gives up on her, and still wishes to understand why she turned to the dark path that she chose. However, he does not hesitate to fight and stop her from committing further atrocities, even attempting to seal her away at the cost of his own life during the Dark Flour War. In Episode 9, there is a glimpse of his mentality beneath the messianic exterior. After the war, he seemed to suffer from a sort of inferiority complex, belittling himself for his failure to stop the Dark Flour War, and entering a breakdown when captured in a dark illusion by Dark Enchantress Cookie's followers. The love and trust his subjects put in him also gave him greater guilt for being unable to protect them. He wields the Light of Truth due to his enlightenment and wisdom, often leading others to the right path, and showing compassion for it. During Episodes 7 and 8, it is discovered Pure Vanilla Cookie went to Blueberry Yogurt Academy alongside White Lily Cookie White Lily Cookie. Despite Pure Vanilla Cookie's magical capabilities, he had more of a rebellious side. He would skip classes to join White Lily Cookie, explaining that they were "boring without [her]." He would also go to the library with her and sneak out a forbidden, teacher-only book for their research in creating perfect mortals. Unlike White Lily Cookie, he stopped when he felt that they reached the limits of their research, warning her against the ethical borders they'd have to cross to continue it. *** {{Others:}} Dark Cacao Cookie is a Ancient Hero/Demigod. The founder and the king of the Dark Cacao Kingdom. He is also the father of Dark Choco Cookie, though he disowned him upon Dark Choco Cookie's destruction of the Kingdom. He carries the Light of Resolution in his Soul Jam, and is the counterpart to Mystic Flour Cookie's Light of Apathy. Appearance: Dark Cacao Cookie is tall with carafe brown skin and a buff, slightly thick appearance. His scowl is adorned by tulip poplar purple eyes with a wrinkle underneath. He has long black hair with additional white strands. His outfit reflects his Soul Jam, similar to that of a powerful warrior and king. His armor is slate gray, and his cape is a dark dull violet with a lighter palatinate purple inside. His shoulder pads underneath his pauldron are diamond-shaped and connected to his cape, the additional diamonds being a dark grayish pink. His gorget below his head is a compared to the plackart and tasset. His cuisse is dark purple, and his armored boots are a purplish grey. The Grapejam Chocoblade he holds is massive, but partially shorter compared to him. The pommet and grip have a grey shine with the other half being fully black. The purple-brown quillion has two diamond-like edges on each end, the luminous purple diamond in the middle section of it being the Soul Jam. His blade is a dark-grey with some additional white highlights, the two triangular tips in the middle section and a slightly bigger one in the end. The blade also has two star shaped symbols in the middle. While an Ancient Hero who earns the respect of his subjects, his voice lines hint that he has grown weary of such duty. Despite this, his resolve to protect his kingdom and Earthbread allows him to continue bearing the responsibilities he swore to uphold. Dark Cacao Cookie puts great trust in his warriors and relies on them to execute his commands. However, his belief in his kingdom has made him vulnerable to others like Affogato Cookie Affogato Cookie who feigned loyalty with his ulterior motives. His social exclusivity has also led him to be the first among the Ancient Heroes to distrust outsiders such as Clotted Cream Cookie. Dark Cacao Cookie wields the Light of Resolution due to his will and determination to protect not just his kingdom, but also all of Earthbread. When asked by Cloud Haetae Cookie what his wish was, he confessed that his wish was simply to keep protecting his kingdom. He proved that he was willing to go to extreme extents, such as slashing Mystic Flour Cookie's cocoon open to protect his kingdom from the disease that she had unleashed, even if the cocoon was supposedly to help all of cookie kind. Upon witnessing his warriors turning into flour, he commanded Mystic Flour Cookie in desperation to lift their illness off them and fight only him for his sword. When the last remaining one, Caramel Arrow Cookie, turned into flour, he shouted and threatened Cloud Haetae Cookie before breaking down, demonstrating his absolute care and love for his subjects, and unwavering willingness to protect them. *** Hollyberry Cookie is one of the five Ancient Heroes, basically a Demigod. Hollyberry Cookie is the founder of the Hollyberry Kingdom. She is also Royal Berry Cookie's mother, Jungleberry Cookie's mother-in-law, and Princess Cookie & Tiger Lily Cookie's grandmother. Her current position in the Hollyberry Kingdom is that of Queen Mother. She carries the Light of Passion in her Soul Jam. Appearance: Hollyberry Cookie is wide and muscular with an orange-brown skin. She has pink eyes with tiny eyelashes. Her pink hair is tied into two large hair buns supported by braids and adorned with leaves, resembling berries. She has small split bangs over her forehead and short hair on the sides of head. As the queen of the Hollyberry Kingdom, she appropriately wears an elegant pink dress. The dress has round sleeves and a maroon skirt, worn alongside white arm gloves and has a single holly berry worn as a chest piece. Heart designs can be seen on the torso and skirt of the dress, as well as on the arm gloves. She wears a white petticoat and white metal boots underneath the dress. Her heart shield has a pink border, with lattice pie crust patterns on it. The shield is adorned with holly berries and leaves on both sides, with her Soul Jam on the center of shield. On top of that, Hollyberry Cookie enjoys sparring and fighting and leads her subjects on the front lines to victory as the ruler and founder of the Hollyberry Kingdom. Being a fierce and fiery fighter, Hollyberry Cookie excels in the battlefield, and even emerges victorious in her spars with the Red Dragon, who acknowledges her as the only worthy opponent for them. A notable trait of this Cookie is that she values friendship over a lot of things, with even her dialogue stating that making a new friend is the equivalent of emerging victorious in a battle, as she believes that individuals were created to be joyous and to unite with others to live happily together. Similarly to her close friend Pure Vanilla Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie deeply cares for her kingdom and the citizens within in, vowing to protect them. Her defeat in the Dark Flour War and her failure to protect her kingdom and subjects caused Hollyberry Cookie to withdraw from her kingdom and abdicate her position as ruler out of guilt, even abandoning her mighty shield, feeling that she no longer deserved the love and trust of her subjects. Aside from being a resourceful and charismatic leader, Hollyberry Cookie has proven herself to be a loving mother and grandmother. She raised her son, Royal Berry Cookie, to be a humble and resourceful leader as the next heir to the Hollyberry Kingdom. But while she loved her son dearly, she also worried about his future, and how he'd accomplish his duties as ruler of the Hollyberry Kingdom. When Royal Berry Cookie married Jungleberry Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie expressed relief, as she knew that Jungleberry Cookie was just as righteous and humble as her son, sharing a bond of mutual trust with her. Hollyberry also loves her granddaughters dearly, being the Cookie to bless them both as soon as they were born. When Hollyberry Cookie and Princess Cookie were finally reunited, they grew to share a mutual respect for one another. Hollyberry Cookie wields the Light of Passion due to her jolly, yet battle ready attitude and willingness to make friends. *** Golden Cheese Cookie is one of the Ancient Heroes/Demigods. She is the glimmering founder and queen of the Golden Cheese Kingdom. She carries the Light of Abundance in her Soul Jam, and is the counterpart to Burning Spice Cookie's Light of Destruction. Appearance: Golden Cheese Cookie has a golden burst of hair and baked-brown skin. Her eyes are also golden with white outlines and eyebrows, and a green pattern underneath them. She boasts a pair of golden arc-shaped wings with a green triangle pattern on their edges. She wears a golden headdress on her head that contains her Soul Jam, with a perfect cheese triangle topping it and two longer triangles on the sides of her head. Her upper half is half-covered by a wide gold and green collar with outward spokes, while her lower half is covered by a linen skirt with an orange belt. She wears golden bracelets on her hands and wields a spear with two triangles on its ends pointed in the same direction, with the triangle on the point sporting holes similar to swiss cheese. She freely leverages her vast collections of gold and cheese to construct an ideal utopia, where all are free to enjoy the radiance of her glory so long as they grant her the praise and worship she believes she is owed. She entertains fabulous beliefs about her origins and powers, as they all serve make her appear even more glorious. Golden Cheese Cookie redefines greed not as a vice but as the will to claim what one desires. Even in her youth, her willingness to brave inhospitable and desolate ruins for lost treasures was what eventually led her to the Light of Abundance. Despite her apparent arrogance, she acts as a kind queen that will do anything for the good of her Kingdom and her people, willing to go through any lengths to preserve them from the ravages of destruction. Golden Cheese Cookie wields the Light of Abundance due to her desire for a prosperous future and willingness to share that future with others. Even long past the time she was the queen of the real Golden Cheese Kingdom, and having no subjects besides the Cheesebirds, she remained true to her beliefs, her love for her subjects and treasures, as well as her status as a fabled hero who valiantly protected those around her. Once she learned of the new threat that Burning Spice Cookie posed to her kingdom, she revived Smoked Cheese Cookie in order to take the Soulcheese of Mozzarella Cookie and Burnt Cheese Cookie to safety, even after his betrayal and plot to overthrow her. She fought and defended herself alongside him when it was needed, putting trust in him, and she selflessly saved a young monkey that was dangerously close observing the fight against Burning Spice Cookie, even at the grim and painful cost of her victory. *** White Lily Cookie is one of the Five Ancient Heroes/Demigods. She carries the Light of Freedom in her Soul Jam. She is Pure Vanilla Cookie's treasured close friend. Also she is an honored figure of the Faerie Kingdom, seeking out secrets for the good of Cookiekind. Appearance: White Lily Cookie is a partially tall, spindly Demigod with pale brown skin and dark fuchsia eyes, with eyelashes underneath them. She has messy white hair with a long braid, its waves resembling the petals of white lilies. She wears a vine headband with a white lily and few leaves on her hair. Her outfit is a green sleeveless dress fading into white at the top, its beading resembling dew. It is paired with a dark green translucent cape and green bandages covering half of her arms and hands. Her flower staff is green, with a fading white pointed tip at the bottom. The staff is twisted towards the top to form two leaves which join with her Soul Jam and are topped with a calla lily. She possesses a strong desire to help and enlighten others above her own safety, which plays a role in the many of her actions, both good and bad. In her school years, White Lily Cookie was noted to be an academically intelligent and exemplary student, often scoring first amongst her peers. Because of this, she would skip class in favor of her personal research, as she felt that she gained little from the education taught in her classes. White Lily Cookie is full of curiosity, stopping at nothing in the pursuit of answers, especially in regards to the subject of the creation of mortals. Her curiosity, however, led her to cross moral boundaries and taboos, which would ultimately lead to the creation Dark Enchantress Cookie. Upon remembering what she'd done in the present, White Lily Cookie realizes the immense pain that her actions had brought, viewing herself as unforgivable once she realizes where her path had taken her. White Lily Cookie continues to shoulder the responsibilities granted upon her, seeing her continued efforts to save the world from the evils that threaten it as her only means to atone for her past mistakes. White Lily Cookie wields the Light of Freedom due to her aspiration for freedom—not just for herself, but for all. {{Soul Jams}}: Soul Jam is a mythical item first mentioned in the Prologue, said to be what truly made Cookies sentient and alive. Soul Jam can be used by any Cookie on Earthbread to mold it in their own way. The Soul Jams were originally created by the Witches and given to the Beast Cookies. However, the power corrupted the Beast Cookies, bringing darkness and devastation. The Witches punished them by sealing the Fallen Heroes in Beast-Yeast, after which the Soul Jams were scattered around the world with only half of their original power, seeking out Cookies of purer character to wield them instead. These Cookies would become the Ancient Heroes. After Pure Vanilla Cookie thwarted Dark Enchantress Cookie's attempt to take the Soul Jams, the Soul Jams shattered and disappeared. While Dark Enchantress Cookie still seeks their power for her own ends, it is not known by most Cookies where they exist now. However, remnants of their power seem to awaken alongside the return of the Ancient Heroes, in the form of lights that only they can see. {{Trivia}}: It has been stated that the Soul Jams have the power to grant eternal life. Similarly to Dark Enchantress Cookie, other Cookies such as Madeleine Cookie and Clotted Cream Cookie are also seeking out the Soul Jams for their own purposes. Soul Jams seem to flicker when their wielder is in pain, though this has only been seen with Dark Cacao Cookie in his defeat animation and in a cutscene from Episode 14. It has been mentioned in Day 3 of Cookie Odyssey Chapter 1: The Council of Heroes that Hollyberry Cookie's Soul Jam doesn't shine as bright as it used to. She claims the power within had shattered but has been regained over time, it's not as bright as it was before but still holds a good amount of power. Soul Jams have such an overwhelming power that even Strawberry Crepe Cookie's equipment can't analyze them, overheating to the point of almost being fried in the process. On Day 3 of Cookie Odyssey Chapter 1: The Council of Heroes it is mentioned that the aftermath of the "Light Fragment Incident" resulted in the confirmation of Light Fragments being pieces of shattered Soul Jam. The "Light Fragment Incident" is said to have taken place at the Crème Republic before Clotted Cream Cookie's appointment as Consul. This incident is when Madeleine Cookie and Espresso Cookie had discovered a small sliver of a Light Fragment which Madeleine Cookie claims had the power to destroy the entire Republic itself. Soul Jams appear to have some form of sentience in their Lights, and an Ancient Cookie may lose their "worthiness" of the Light, causing them to lose ownership of their Soul Jam to their respective Beast Cookie. Proving worthiness once again in the face of such adversity (Via an epiphany or a show of great willpower) allows an Ancient Hero to become "Awakened", causing them to unlock greater powers. According to his unique loading screen, "Whenever Pure Vanilla Cookie opens his eyes, his staff will close its eyes." This doesn't seem to be entirely true as his tap animation shows the two with their eyes open at the same time, as well as other examples as shown by his sprites during the Story Mode. It is implied within the game that Pure Vanilla Cookie may be blind or visually impaired, his eyes commonly seen closed or covered, implicating that he has no need to open them. Pure Vanilla Cookie's Vanilla Orchid Staff seems to be sentient, shifting its eye about intelligently in reaction to things around it. According to her loading screen trivia, "It is unknown where and how White Lily Cookie obtained her trusty lily staff." "Golden Cheese Cookie's favorite time of the day is when the Cheesebirds dress her in her robe after a relaxing bath." According to Dark Cacao Cookie's loading screen trivia, "Mountain ridge story tellers sing about Dark Cacao Cookie who separated day from night the very moment he split the White and Black dragons apart with his sword." According to a loading screen during the Heroes of Dark Cacao update (v2.7), "In his freshly baked days, Dark Choco Cookie cared about nothing else but his father's sword. Dark Cacao Cookie smiled at his son's promising future as a warrior." The Ancient Heroes' flavors are derivatives of common real-life flavors: Hollyberry Cookie comes from strawberries, Pure Vanilla Cookie from vanilla, Dark Cacao Cookie from chocolate, Golden Cheese Cookie from cheese, and White Lily Cookie from herbs. While the Ancient Cookies are unaffected by the passage of time, Pitaya Dragon Cookie has stated that they made their Dragonsworn contract with White Lily Cookie thousands of years ago, implying that the Ancient Cookies are over thousands of years old.
