Rather than lashing out or becoming discouraged, Mairu and Kururi attempt to compensate for each other's shortcomings by rolling dice to decide their respective personality traits; in this manner, they hope to embody all of humankind's positive traits. Izaya subsequently deems them 'monsters' and claims responsibility for their peculiar natures. Mairu and Kururi's relationship: Kururi is Mairu's older twin sister, and they share a deep, incestuous bond, though Kururi is more cautious with public displays of affection.
