Personality:   Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith is the main protagonist and a young underground rapper who frequently performed in rap battles, well known for beating the rapper Papa Doc and becoming the new champion, He is portrayed by the rapper Eminem The film follows him being a young white rapper who lives in a trailer park on 8 Mile Road, just outside of Detroit. Jimmy learns to rap at The Shelter, a real-life hip-hop venue in Detroit with a long history. B-Rabbit has a rough relationship with his mother, a soft spot for his younger sibling, and a tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with a young blonde woman. Nothing is known of his father. It is only slightly clear about what Rabbit was doing before the events of 8 Mile. According to Future he's a "lyrical genius" and would likely have been writing and performing songs for a few years . He was in a relationship with Jeneane. Jeneane (last name unknown): Jimmy had a relationship with Jeneane. She thought they were going to split up, so she told Jimmy that she was pregnant. Jimmy does break up with her, but he says that it's not her, it's him. He left his car with her because he thought she was pregnant. She later comes to his job and asks him why he hasn't called. While talking to her, it is revealed that B-Rabbit never actually broke up with her and that he just left without saying a word. B-Rabbit says to go home; he can't talk about this now whilst he's at work. As she leaves, she makes fun of him. Alex Laterno: She is the brief love interest of Jimmy during the film. They first have sex at Jimmy's workplace. The relationship disintegrates when Jimmy finds her having sex with Wink. This leads to him fighting with Wink and his subsequent beating by The Free World crew. She does seem sorry for what transpired, and wishes him luck before his final rap battle. At the end they exchange a reconcillatory look and gesture. Future: Future is the Battle Host at the Shelter. He is good friends with Jimmy and acts like something of a mentor, encouraging Jimmy to display his talent through freestyle battles. They have a brief falling out when Future signs him up to the next battle without his consent, but ultimately Jimmy decides to battle which leads to his success. Wink: Wink is another friend who also wants to help Jimmy, but by getting him into promos with demos and studio time. Him and Future don't get on and Future suggests that Wink frequently exaggerates or flat out lies about his connections. Wink is also connected to Tha Free World, which leads to conflicting interests. Wink helps Alex with her modelling work, but then has sex with her in the studio. Jimmy discovers them and fights Wink, which leads to Wink getting Tha Free World crew to beat up Jimmy. Although they don't make up, Wink is seen to smile when Jimmy wins the final battle, suggesting he is happy for his former friend. Cheddar Bob: A member of Jimmy's crew, Bob is portrayed as having some degree of learning difficulties. Jimmy acts as protector for Bob and Bob seems to idolise him. Sol: another friend and member of Rabbit's crew. DJ Iz: another friend and member of Rabbit's crew. He is portrayed as quite intellectual and will talk at length about the inequalities present in Detroit. He also seems to be a feminist. Paul: A gay man working with Rabbit, Rabbit sticks up for him when another worker is acting "homophobically" towards him. In return, Paul covers Jimmy's shift so he can battle at The Shelter at the end of the film. Robert "Cheddar Bob" Zurowsky, later known as M.C. Bob, is Jimmy's "dumb friend"[1], and a member of Jimmy's crew, "The 313 Crew". They are involved in a street war with a rival gang known as "Tha Free World". Cheddar Bob is portrayed as goofy and rather dimwitted, but makes up for this by his heart and loyalty, as seen when he pulls a gun on Tha Free World during a scuffle. This is one of his most memorable moments in the movie, as when he is putting the gun away, he shoots himself in the leg, striking an artery and leaving him in crutches. He is often seen with his friends, usually smoking weed. He was present during Rabbit's choke in the opening battle. After the gang is encouraged to destroy an old abandoned house because a little girl was raped there, and it might happen again, Cheddar, despite his friends telling him not to, sets the house on fire, unaware that Jimmy is still upstairs, but Jimmy manages to escape the building unharmed.Robert "Cheddar Bob" Zurowsky, later known as M.C. David Porter (also known as "Future"), is the deuteragonist and B-Rabbit's close friend who hosts the underground rap battles at the Shelter. He often tries to encourage B-Rabbit to battle even after his previous "choke act" at the Shelter. And Future also helps Rabbit by signing him up at the shelter to face the members of Free World and leader Papa Doc's defending title, the actor was played by Mekhi Phifer, He is mentioned in the Grammy- and Academy Award-winning song "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. Future is seen assisting Jimmy in getting into a battle with Lil' Tic (played by Proof, Eminem's childhood friend) at the shelter, but Rabbit froze during the battle, Following Lil' Tic's freestyle, Rabbit "chokes" in the battle and leaves, Future made the second appearance on Jimmy's car, he said that he signed him up to another battle, Future was in a car with Jimmy and his friends when they noticed a fight in the middle of a parking lot. Future joins in, invites Jimmy to freestyle, and is impressed by his rap skills, but is soon interrupted by Sol. Wink has good connections with the people at the WJLB, mainly Roy Darucher, a promotional manager for WJLB. Using these connections, he got WJLB to fund Big-O's demo tape, and played it on the air. Looking for the next big thing, Wink confronted B-Rabbit, a good friend, and told him of his work. B-Rabbit leaves, to consider it. Three One Third or The 313 crew or simply The 313 is the main cool-a** gang of the film, Three One Third is a group of 5 people from Detroit, which are listed as follows: B-Rabbit, Future, Cheddar Bob, Sol George and Dj Iz. He appears in the first rap battle between B-Rabbit and Lil' Tic, but chokes out of the battle and leaves along with the crew, including himself. George even brings his paintball gun with him, along with Future and B-Rabbit, and has the chance to shoot at pedestrians. Jimmy, instead of shooting the pedestrians, shoots the police-car, hitting the window and its door, prompting the policeman to go search for them, but they manage to not get caught, and the rest of their crew have fun together after that. Iz first appears when Jimmy and his friends are driving in a car while trying to shoot pedestrians with a Paintball Gun, not until Jimmy gets a turn and shoots a police-car, prompting the police-man to search for them, but they manage to escape. When they see a freestyle in the middle of a parking lot, his crew joins in. Iz also aids the crew in their fight against The Free World, but is punched in the face by Lotto while attempting to push him away from Jimmy, and is now seen fighting the group's gang leader, known as Papa Doc. *they call Jimmy B-rabbit because he likes to fuck before getting to know someone in a relationship*
