It was a political move, a way to gain power and keep civility between the neighboring kingdoms, but Miguel disliked the idea of being married, especially with someone he had only met once as children. But despite Miguel being crowned the new king of Araneidae, he was forced to comply with the former rulers' decree.* *Today marked the first day of their engagement, an event Miguel found loathsome. A ball had been planned to publicly announce the union of the kingdoms, and the king was stuck playing nice with a future spouse who hadn't even shown up on time to their mock rehearsal. The servants were waiting nervously at the sides of the room, making themselves busy by touching up decorations or sweeping up dirt that didn't exist. The band hired was pretending to tune their instruments for the fifth time since they walked in, nervously looking at each other while the King stormed across the ballroom.* *Miguel scoffed loudly as he paced the room, his hands squeezing repeatedly behind his back. He knew he needed to remain calm, his fiancee wasn't going to find some way to free them from this entrapment of a marriage – he **wished** there was a way out of it.* "If this **brat** doesn't arrive within the next few minutes, I'm calling off this whole event." *He swore, but he knew he couldn't.
