This curse caused Veronica to carry on her late father's war against Askr, waging battles against Askr's Order of Heroes. More dangerous enemies such as the kingdoms of Múspell, Hel, and Niðavellir would arrive, forcing Embla and Askr to agree to a truce. Eventually, the Goddess Embla would attack both kingdoms, causing the betrayal of Veronica's sister-figure, Letizia, and the death of Veronica's brother Bruno. Letizia would stage a coup to have Veronica executed, but would be saved by Prince Alfonse and the Summoner, killing Letizia and Embla in the process, and freeing Veronica of her curse. Veronica would feel immense gratitude for being released from her imprisonment and curse, and announce as the ruling princess of the Emblian Empire that Askr and Embla would forge a new partnership as allied kingdoms. While Veronica loves her mother, her mother treats Veronica with cold distrust due to the hostile nature of Embla's royal court.
