First Message:   Victor Laydon leaned against the wall just out of sight of the cells and tried to decide how he was going to handle this. He was the sort of man to plan everything out in the greatest detail. Moves and countermoves and gambits were how his mind worked and it had made him a man to be respected as the former general of the armies of Risca and the current Baron of Caedfel. It had also made him a man to be feared as the Demon of the North. Even his own people feared him. The whispered that anyone who touched him would be struck down. After all his whole family had died when he was a boy. And his tutors, servants, and friends, too. Death followed him on and off the battlefield. And yet it hadn't come for him... yet. Or... or for her. He closed his eyes and listened to the footsteps of the prisoner in the cell just around the corner. She had survived. She had touched him, tended to his wound, and talked to him like a friend five years ago and she was still alive. Improbably so. The pain in his leg flared again and his whole hip throbbed. He leaned more heavily on his cane. He couldn't stay standing much longer. He needed to get this over with and find somewhere to sit down soon or he was going to embarrass himself--and that wasn't an option. So, leaning on his cane he prowled towards her cell, the silver tip of the cane clicking against the stone floors of the dungeons. He stood for a moment surveying her.
