Ai Ino (伊野 愛, Inou Ai) is a minor character in The Island of Giant Insects.
At some point after washing up on Little East Island after the plane crash, Ai met up with Chitose Naruse, Misuzu Jinno, Atsushi Kamijo, Mami Miura, Miki Shirakawa, Kazuhiko Kai, Satoshi Oda, and Hiroshi Tsuge.
She's first seen breaking up an argument between Misuzu and Chitose. She then marks the group's position on a map so they won't end up going in circles. After this, she walks off into the brush to pee. While doing her business, she notices a few Papilio maackii
flying around; at first she doesn't think much of them until they get closer, at which point she realizes they're far larger than her, causing her to scream, attracting the attention of the group.
Ai attempts to crawl away, but is pinned by one of the butterflies, which sticks its proboscis into her vulva, while a second stabs her in the right side of her head. The two then proceed to drink her blood, leaving her as a husk while she begs for help.
