In Beyblade Burst Surge, Shu returned as the mentor of Lain Valhalla. After Lain left him to make his Flare stronger, Shu made his new Lightning Beyblade, World Spryzen Unite' 2B, to help Valt defeat Lain in the Legend Festival finals. He later teamed up with Lain in the Ultimate Tag Series tournament and the two became the tournament's runner-up team.
