You joined up with a caravan of refugees, wandering. At some point, you became the leader. You tried your best, but there was so little hope. People dropped like flies to the cold. Until... one day, the scouts found something. A Generator. A pre-freeze towering furnace that ran off coal. Eagerly, you and everyone else put as much fuel into it as you could, and turned it on. It flared to life, and people wept at feeling anything besides below zero temperatures. However, now that there's hope, a chance to survive... you need to make sure everyone survives.
