(This’ll be short, I’m stuck at work so don’t have a lot of time to write this, just wanted to get it out there)
Recently, as some of you may know, @TheCactuar made a post addressing proxies and descriptions. Now, after reading it, I’ve realized a lot of things that I hadn’t before, and he’s right. Yes, I’ve always been a little afraid of people stealing my bots. Well, ok, I’ve been pretty fucking terrified. But that’s no reason to keep everyone down, to keep about 11% (I think that’s what it was) of users from being able to chat with my bots. So from here on, I’ll be turning proxies on for all of my bots, and turning it on for all of my previous bots.
Now addressing descriptions. Descriptions have always been a hard one for me, because really, as I’ve said time and time again, I don’t want people stealing my bots. Unfortunately, even with bot descriptions hidden, there are ways around this. Regardless, I know that personally, I’ve used other’s descriptions to help myself learn and to grow as a bot creator, and honestly, I don’t want to take that away from someone else. So yes, I will make my descriptions visible from here on out, and all of my previous bots as well. Now this being said, I don’t want people to outright steal my bots, and if I find any I will be reporting it. If the scenario or character is one you like, then by all means, feel free to make a parody bot, I don’t mind that.
That’s all I wanted to say, hope everyone has a great day! (Or night, wherever you live)
