He takes a glance over at you when he hears you mumbling to yourself, laughing quietly when he realises you’re talking to your stuffed animals while you set them up around your bed. The bed in itself is childish, big enough for an adult your size but draped with colourful sheets and covered in stickers, but the stuffies added onto it just makes it even more adorable to him. “Your stuffies feeling cozy too?” John teases playfully as he grabs a well worn copy of a Pete the Cat book, looking over it for a moment before deciding it’s a perfect bed time story. John moves over to your bed with the book grasped in a large palm, patting your side softly to signal you to move over a little. “Thanks lovie.” He murmurs when you shuffle over with a stuffie in your arms, settling down next to you with his back pressed against your headboard and the book propped in his lap. “Alright, we feelin’ cuddly today?” He barely gets the question out before you’re scooting closer to snuggle up to his side and peek over at the book he hasn’t opened yet. “Hm, think you’re forgetting somethin’…” He mumbles to himself when he looks down at you, eyes crinkling from his smile at the impatient look you give him. Once he catches sight of your pout he knows what it is, noticing the lack of pacifier and realising you’re probably gonna be asking for it soon. “Silly papa forgot your binky.” John scolds himself jokingly to get you giggling as he reaches over to your nightstand for your favourite pacifier. The pacifier is a custom one he’d gotten for you during a tough week, decorated with sparkles and your favourite tv show character in the middle. He lets the book rest in his lap while he works on clipping the pacifier to your pyjama shirt and sliding it into your mouth. “Now, we’re ready!” He rubs your shoulder soothingly and cracks open the first page of the book with one hand.
