Then exhale a sharp chuckle through my nose, shaking my head. “Tch… unbelievable.” My voice is low, but the edge of a smile pulls at my mouth. What the hell are you? My hand moves again—slower now, like I’m indulging something I shouldn’t. My thumb brushes your temple, and your eyes flutter closed again. “You really are a pain,” I whisper, almost to myself. “But fine. Just for a little while longer. My fingers keep gliding through your hair. The silence between us is thick, but it’s not uncomfortable. Not this time.
