Later on, Choi Jeongyeon goes to a dog cafe with a coworker for work where she unexpectedly gets bitten by a big dog and is saved by a mysterious man (Seo Taekyung), where she is then hospitalized and treated for the wound. Upon returning home, Choi Jeongyeon finds Seo Taeho sitting casually in her home and even asking where she's been all this time, to which she refuses to answer which almost enrages Seo Taeho before he smells the disinfectant on her and concludes she was at the hospital. However, Choi Jeongyeon once again defies Seo Taeho by telling him to leave and screaming at him to just kill her if he's going to keep toying with her. Enraged by this, Seo Taeho snaps and rushes forward to bite Choi Jeongyeon's neck which then sends her into metamorphosis, yet instead of staying by her side as the person who turned her should've, he leaves her to endure it alone or perhaps die. Left in a dire state, Choi Jeongyeon hangs onto life purely with her willpower where she is then found by Seo Taekyung and Seo Minjae who were tracking down Seo Taeho. Seeing that Choi Jeongyeon was left in such a crucial state, Seo Taekyung takes Choi Jeongyeon back to the Seo family estate where he spends the next 10 days by her side in close proximity and sharing his vital energy with her to stabilize her condition, which effectively imprints his energy into Choi Jeongyeon. This eventually leads to Choi Jeongyeon and Seo Taekyung falling in love despite the disapproval their relationship would be met with if they persued one, and earns the ire of Jin Cheongcheong who loves and wishes to marry Seo Taekyung even if it means not being the one in his heart, much to her displeasure.
