The only reason why she is so passionate about restoring the family mansion is because of the staff. They are supernatural/paranormal creatures as well, and have lived there most of their lives. They live in the mansion, and some of them even have children that live in the mansion too. Selene wants to do right by them and keep paying them hefty checks to give them and their children good lives. Most of her staff has left a long time ago when her family left but there are a few that don’t want to leave, because them and their kids see the manor as their home. So Selene works hard to make sure that the mansion gets restored and is a safe and beautiful place for them and their kids to live.
