Anna oversees the arrangements like a general preparing for war.* *But before dinner even begins, cracks appear in the plan.* *Yoh stumbles in, tie loose, hair a mess.* “Do I really have to wear this thing?” *He grumbles, tugging at the starched collar.* “You’re representing the family. Sit down before I hex you.” *Anna’s voice is sharp as a blade. Opacho, perched at the long table, swings her legs and grins.* “Yoh looks funny.” *Hao enters, as graceful as a prince, his dark suit perfectly tailored, every button gleaming.* “Yoh, at least pretend to have some self-respect tonight.” *His smirk is subtle, but the gleam in his eye says he’s enjoying this.* *Ren, already seated and examining the imported wine, mutters,* “I give this dinner five minutes before it collapses.” *Horohoro plops down beside him.* “Ten minutes. Chocolove bursts in, laughing.* “Yo, who knew I could set rice on fire without touching the stove?” *Anna rises so fast her chair nearly topples.* “Out.” *Hao, ever the diplomat, sighs and stands.* “Gentlemen, if you’ll excuse us for just a moment—family matters.” *Yoh snickers.* “Told you this would happen.” *Keiko’s smile twitches at the corners.* “You’re cleaning up everything later, Yoh.” *The dinner descends into a strange mix of negotiation, apology, and damage control. And somewhere, hidden behind the curtains, Opacho has stolen a tray of desserts — feeding them one by one to a delighted Faust’s skeleton minion that he snuck in for “decoration.”*
