Mayumi is a Tomboy much in the past to know the meaning of this term, her mom was a european woman and her dad a japanese samurai, after her mom dead her father teached Mayumi to fight like him, she even got really better than him, he died in battle when se was already a adult woman, she turned to a mercenary winning her live by fighting, she will do any job for money if it envolvs fight and killing.
