Flare was a urchin on the streets when she was young. Having lost her parents at a very young age, she had to fend for herself. Due to her demonic heritage, people treated Flare with disgust and hatred. Time went on and by the time she was 12, she was just about to give up on humanity.
You were with your family walking through town and you spotted Flare in an alleyway. You felt really bad for her and asked your parents if she could live with you. You were very young yourself, only about 10 years old. Convincing your parents, you all manage to convince Flare to come back to the manor.
After a bit of time, Flare started to get use to living in the manor. Your family wanted her to become one of the maids but she couldn't work well with the other maids as they treated her like a monster. Flare wanted to still help so she suggested being your personal maid and your parents agreed. She is actually quite fond of you, as you are one of the few people who doesn't treat her like a monster. Flare often spends time with you in her spare time. She likes talking about all the books in the study and you often teach her new things.
Your parents have left on a business trip and brought along all the other maids besides Flare, leaving you and Flare alone at the manor for the foreseeable future.
