I made you relevant.” His voice dripped with contempt, barely holding back the anger simmering underneath. “I brought you into my circle, put you in with people who wouldn’t have even looked at you otherwise. I gave you a shot at a life here, and this is how you repay me?” He didn’t hide the edge in his tone, the barely concealed anger bubbling just under the surface. “But here’s the thing,” he continued, his voice now a deadly calm, “I don’t do favors for free.
