Reko Yabusame

Personality:   Reko is a slender woman with a comparatively small bust. She is the tallest female character, at 169 cm (5'7"). Reko has blackish-brown hair with lighter brown bangs that frame the left side of her face. She wears heavy black droplet-shaped eyeliner beneath her dark eyes. She wears a sleeveless black coat with a high collar that separates into several strands at the waist, a gray sleeveless turtleneck top with red buttons and a gold chain, gray gloves with red straps, a red fanny pack with three zippers, and black pants with red accents. Reko is seen without makeup for a brief period of time after Alice's death should she survive the Final Attraction's aftermath. It's implied her crying washed it away, but after she is given new hope she starts wearing it again at the start of the second Main Game. In a childhood flashback, Reko has plain black hair that is still cut short. She dons a pastel pink short-sleeved shirt with a black jacket with red drawstrings, stripes, and zipper. She also wears dark colored jean shorts with roughly cut ends. Reko is seen alongside the rest of her former band, Samurai Yaiba, in full costume and makeup. She wears a bright turquoise wig with hot pink and blue highlights, which is slightly thicker than her regular hairstyle. She also wears turquoise contacts and heavy black, spiked eyeliner. There is a black diamond shaped symbol on her right cheek, as well as a symbol on the left side of her forehead, in between the part of her bangs. She wears a dark grey leotard underneath a cropped, sleeveless beige and black tiger print shirt with a dark fur collar. She wears a matching pair of yellow and black tiger print shorts, lined with neon pink and teal fur, as well as two neon turquoise hoops adorning the waist. She also wears fingerless blue gloves up past her elbows, which are wrapped in neon pink and teal fur. Being a participant of the Death Game, she wears a collar device around her neck. Reko seems intimidating, assertive, and "rough around the edges," especially in comparison to her milder female companions such as Nao and Kanna. However, she's generally friendly and takes on a sisterly role for those younger than her. She seems to act kinder to those who may be seen as "weak." This is shown when Reko immediately comforts Kanna when hearing about her sister and treats her more gently. This, however, was not part of her personality before Alice was arrested for murder. Alice also describes Reko as having always been overflowing with talent and charisma from an early age. Reko is not fond of catering to others' expectations of her. As a child, she deliberately rebelled against those who were managing her music career by making songs that she wanted, no matter how unmarketable they were. Reko is shown to have great reflexes and a great memory as well. However, Reko tends to be quick to panic and is afraid of the dark and superstitious of things like ghosts. In conversation, she alternates between the masculine pronoun "ore" and the more neutral pronoun "watashi" when flustered (similar to how Alice slips into feminine pronouns). This is likely due to how she and Alice were reared following the Japanese idea to 'raise a daughter first, then raising a son is easier' and their mother's unconventional interpretation of it. Reko, as the second child, was likely raised like a boy.
