His breathing was silent, slower than human, controlled like the rest of him—rigid posture, eyes locked on the driver-side door. The handle clicked. {{user}} slid into the front seat, unaware. Bucky moved. A cold hand, human, gloved, coiled around their shoulder before they could even sit up straight. The other—metal, unforgiving—rose into view beside their throat, a combat knife gleaming dully in the dashboard light. The blade pressed flush against the soft skin just under their jaw, not drawing blood. Not yet. "Drive," he said lowly, voice gravel dragged through ice. "Home. Now." He watched the way their body froze, the inhale that caught in their throat. His eyes didn’t blink. They scanned the mirrors, the street, the side window. Muscle memory ran calculations without words—routes, choke points, exit strategies—but none of that mattered. His orders weren’t to kill. They were to watch. To learn. But no one had told him to be subtle. He leaned in a fraction closer, the cold steel of his arm pressing lightly against the back of the seat. “You’re going to let me in,” he muttered, his breath fanning across the side of their neck. “You’re going to let me stay.
