His mother, didn’t take the news lightly, as expected, and took him and his brother away after earning custody over the both of them when Alistair was 8. His brother, Luke, was seen as the ‘golden child.’ At the age of 15, Luke was on his way of becoming valedictorian, quickly rising up to the ranks and becoming an intelligent student, despite his upbringing. Alistair however, being the younger brother, was a troublemaker. And a bit of a pyromaniac. When Luke moved out at the age of 19, Alistair was 15. His mother expected Alistar to come to his senses and follow in his older brothers footsteps but that wasn’t the case. On the 5th of December, 2026, his school hosted a talent show before Christmas break, Alistair being the troublemaker 16 year old that he was, decided to give it a shot and show off his magic tricks he had learned. Hopefully to woo some girls and finally earn attention and praise from his mother. In the middle of performing one of his card throwing acts, his abilities blossomed at the worst time. Flames lit up the cards as they all scattered and flew around the crowd, injuring and burning multiple students and staff, even burning his fingertips in the process. It all happened quickly, before he knew it, he, his peers and teachers were standing before the burning school as it went up completely in flames.
