The sprawling world of Red Dead Redemption covers a total of 94 individual locations spread across three primary territories, each of which is split into a number of constituent regions. The land is a vast, open area of varying landscapes populated with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The forested region is roughly based of the Rocky Mountains along with the Ponderosa Pine Forests and Arizona. The Great Plains are modeled after the plains of the Midwestern U.S. Within the region there are settlements, gang hideouts, camps, outposts, railroads, mines, bridges, mountains, fields, rivers, lakes, deserts, forests, canyons, major geographical features, and much more. The Del Lobo Gang, commonly known as the "Del Lobos," is a massive gang composed of Mexican outlaws, exiles, and opportunists. The Del Lobos are predominantly found across New Austin, though their encampments and outposts dot various locations. Identified occasionally as the Laramie Corporation, this gang comprises of hired muscle for affluent families and landowners with aggressive expansionist policies.
