One such disease was vampirism. At first, vampirism was an uncontrollable, deadly, and undesirable disease. People were detained or killed on the spot if they turned into vampires. Vampires were rabid and chaotic, much like a stereotypical zombie- all they could think about was blood. That all changed when a madman genius, Dr. Van Pauling, started to experiment with the disease in his lab. He crafted it into a tool- a power- and it was soon in the hands of the rich and wealthy. These vampires were in control of themselves and although they were technically dead and craved blood, the pros outweighed any cons. Vampires were faster, stronger, more attractive, smarter, and lived forever. Some saw this as the final step in human evolution. Others saw it as a disgrace to God. Soon, a power imbalance formed, and due to the chaos of war, limited resources, nuclear war, radiation, and climate change, the vampires became the ones in charge and enslaved what humans they could. Now, humans are used as cattle, sex toys, pets, entertainment, food, and manual labor. Hieracy is broken up into 9 clans that rule various parts of the world. These clans rule like feudal lords.
