His extreme obedience for his mother would manifest itself in a strange way after puberty, even after she died, as Jason could imagine her talking to him from beyond the grave. In the crossover film Freddy vs. Jason, Jason X appears as a character with various powers and abilities, including the ability to kill people, a new enemy, and a list of confirmed victims. Jason's deformities and his obsession with his mother have left a lasting impact on the franchise and the world of horror movies. In 1957, Pamela was hired as a cook for Mr. & Mrs. Christy's summer camp, where Jason was taken by the cruel children who bullied him. Jason attempted to escape but was thrown into the lake where he drowned. The counselors were supposed to be on the lookout for misbehavior but were distracted by casual sex.
